These side steps and the step pads are also protected in a durable powder coat finish. The boards are available in your choice of carbide black or chrome powder coat. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for a fast, easy, secure installation, featuring vehicle-specific brackets for a custom fit. This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps (models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, 584088) are universal application running boards. They are available in silver or black aluminum extrusions in three sizes: 69.0", 75.0", and 85.0". Installation requires a vehicle-specific bracket package (sold separately) whose instructions must be followed to mount the brackets to your vehicle. Step pad positioning varies by vehicle model and cab style and is detailed in the installation guide.
The W2W MEGA/GRIP Step Brackets (models 570939/400939) are designed specifically for 09-16 RAM 1500 Pickups. They are not compatible with other vehicles. If you own a different vehicle, you will need a different bracket package.
The O-MEGA II kit includes: 2 extrusions (aluminum, silver or black, in your chosen size), 4 step pads (aluminum, black), 4 end caps (plastic), 24 square head screws 5/16-18 X 1" (Magniguard), 24 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (stainless steel), and 20 tek screws #8-18 X 1/2" (stainless steel, zinc plated). You will also need a vehicle-specific bracket package with its own hardware, supplied separately.
The W2W MEGA/GRIP kit includes mounting brackets (left and right, front/center/rear, inboard/outboard), load reaction studs (3" and 4"), M12 bolts, washers (flat and serrated flange, various sizes), rubber cushion washers, 3/8-16 hex screws, 5/16-18 hex screws, and flange nuts. Specific quantities are listed in the service parts list. The step plate assembly is installed separately per its own instructions.
Yes. On the right side of the vehicle, you must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts. These bolts will not be reused. If there is a cast iron dampener on the rear body mount, it must also be removed and will not be reused. The W2W brackets are then installed using new M12 bolts and washers at these mounting points.
1. Place the step pads on top of the step plates. 2. Use the Step Pad Location Guide (page 2) to position the pads for your specific vehicle model and cab style. 3. Using the step pad as a guide, drill five 1/8" holes through the step pad into the step plate. 4. Attach the pad with five 8-18 X 1/2" tek screws (item #6). 5. Repeat for all step pads. The pad locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Position the O-MEGA step so that the square head screws (item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
Install the end caps (item #3) as shown in figure 1 on the step plates, tightening the nuts to 5 lb ft.
1. Use a 4" stud (item #19) for the front bracket and a 3" stud (item #18) for the rear brackets. 2. On the short threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #17) backwards to the bottom of the thread. 3. Install a 3/8" flat washer (item #16) and rubber cushion washer (item #15) tight against the nut. The stud end must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 4. On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #17) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a flange nut (item #17) on the outboard end of the stud, finger tight only at this stage. Final tightening occurs after all brackets are positioned.
Using an M12 – 110mm bolt (item #13) and a 2.0" washer (item #14), install the front mounting bracket (item #1 or #2) to the front body mount. Using the same bolt and washer, install the center mounting bracket (item #3 or #4) to the center body mount. Leave all fasteners finger tight at this stage. Tighten to final torque after all brackets are positioned.
Using an M12 – 110mm bolt (item #13) and a 1/2" flat washer (item #21), install the rear mounting bracket (item #5 or #6) to the rear body mount. Leave the fasteners finger tight. Then attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (item #7 or #8) to the rear inboard mounting bracket in the lower mounting holes using three 3/8-16 X 1.0 screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (items #16, #17, #20).
Attach the inboard mounting brackets (item #9 or #10) to the frame using 1/2-13 X 1.00 hex screws, 1/2" washers, and 1/2-13 serrated flange nuts (items #21, #22, #23). Leave this bracket loose at this time. Note that these mounting brackets are not the same from left to right.
Attach the W2W support bracket (item #12) to the inboard mounting bracket using two 3/8-16 X 1" hex screws, two 3/8" washers, and two 3/8-16 flange nuts (items #16, #17, #20). Also attach the support bracket to the frame using a 1/2"-13 X 1" hex screw, a 1/2" washer, and a 1/2"-13 serrated flange nut (items #21, #22, #23). Leave this bracket loose at this time.
Install the W2W outboard mounting bracket (item #11) to the inboard W2W bracket using two black 5/16"-18 X 1" hex screws, two black 5/16" washers, and two black 5/16"-18 flange nuts (items #24, #25, #26). Leave this bracket loose at this time.
Yes. Using the step pad as a guide, you must drill five 1/8" holes through each step pad into the step plate. The pads are then attached with five 8-18 X 1/2" tek screws (item #6).
Tighten the end cap (item #3) nuts to 5 lb ft.
Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws (item #4) and tighten to 19 lb ft.
After positioning the load reaction stud assembly so that the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame, tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb ft.
Tighten the 1/2"-13 flange nuts on the rear W2W bracket to 60 lb ft.
1. Attach the step plate per the instructions included with your step plate assembly. 2. Tighten all bolts and nuts on the rear W2W bracket, tightening the 1/2"-13 flange nuts to 60 lb ft. 3. Tighten all remaining body mount bolts. 4. Position the load reaction stud assembly so that the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame. 5. Tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb ft.
The W2W MEGA/GRIP brackets are designed for 09-16 RAM 1500 Pickups only. For other vehicles, a different bracket package is required.
You will need a drill with a 1/8" bit to drill holes for the step pads, and a wrench or socket set to tighten nuts and bolts. Specific torque wrenches are recommended for final tightening to 5 lb ft and 19 lb ft.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (which will not be reused). If a cast iron dampener is present on the rear body mount, it must also be removed.
Most W2W MEGA/GRIP fasteners are left finger tight during initial assembly and tightened to final torque only after all brackets are positioned. Final tightening occurs in Step 7 and Step 8.
