Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Ford F250 Super Duty, F350 Super Duty, F450 Super Duty and F550 Super Duty (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Read the complete instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand before starting installation. You will also need to follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package designed for your vehicle.
Read the complete instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand before starting installation. Confirm that your vehicle is a 1999 or newer Ford Super Duty Super Cab or Crew Cab Pickup, as these brackets are model-specific.
Yes. Before attaching the step pads to the step plates, you must drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then attached with five 8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws provided in the kit.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide table on sheet 2 to position the step pads for your particular vehicle. The table provides specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B locations for each vehicle model. Note that these locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
1. Attach step pads to step plates by drilling five 1/8" holes and securing with five 8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws. 2. Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 3. Install end caps and tighten nuts to 5 lb-ft. 4. Position the step on mounting brackets so square head screws are in bracket slots and step is centered front to rear. 5. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
1. Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts in the top rear hole of the first, second, and third mounting patterns and in the front top hole of the fifth (rear) pattern, with threads facing inside the rocker panel. 2. Position mounting brackets so top hole lines up with U-nut and bottom hole lines up with pinch weld hole. 3. Attach top of bracket with 5/16" x 1.00" zinc-plated hex head cap screw and 5/16" zinc-plated flat washer. 4. Attach bottom with 5/16" x 1.00" black-plated hex head cap screw, 5/16" black-plated flat washer, and 5/16" serrated flange nut. 5. Level brackets and tighten all fasteners to 19 lb-ft.
1. Insert four 5/16" square head screws in the center slot on the underside of the step. 2. Position the step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are located in the bracket slots and the step is centered front to rear on the cab. 3. Locate the step in and out as desired. 4. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft. 5. Install 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts on any unused square head screws in the inboard slot and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
The end cap nuts must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
All bracket fasteners must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. This includes the top bracket attachment (hex head cap screw and washer), the bottom bracket attachment (hex head cap screw, washer, and serrated flange nut), and the step mounting bolts (serrated flange nuts on square head screws).
Five 1/8" holes must be drilled through the step pads into the step plates. These holes are used to attach the pads with 8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws.
When positioning the step on the mounting brackets, the step should be centered along its length from the front to the rear of the vehicle. The square head screws should be located in the slots of the mounting brackets to allow for this positioning adjustment.
Yes. The manual instructs to "locate the step, in and out, as desired" before final tightening. This means you can adjust the step's lateral position (inboard or outboard) on the mounting brackets before installing and tightening the serrated flange nuts.
Any unused square head screws in the inboard slot of the step must have 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts installed and tightened to 19 lb-ft to secure them.
The 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts are inserted through the large access holes in the rocker panel and slid towards the round hole until they seat. The threaded half of the U-nut must face inside the rocker panel. U-nuts are installed in the top rear hole of the first, second, and third mounting patterns and in the front top hole of the fifth (rear) pattern.
The front mounting bracket (item #2) has a 3/16" offset at the top of the bracket. This offset is designed to accommodate the contour of the Ford Super Duty rocker panel and must be accounted for when positioning the bracket.
Leveling the brackets ensures that the step will be properly aligned and function correctly on the vehicle. The manual instructs to level the brackets and then tighten all fasteners to 19 lb-ft.
The O-MEGA II steps are universal, but installation requires a vehicle-specific bracket package. The manual provides step pad location guidance for Silverado/Sierra, Colorado/Canyon, Avalanche/Suburban/Yukon XL, Tahoe/Yukon, Ram, Dodge Dakota/Durango, Ford F150/Super Duty, and Toyota Tundra/Tacoma models. Consult your bracket package instructions for fitment confirmation.
The Mega Steps Brackets (model 579922) fit 1999 and newer Ford Super Duty Super Cab and Crew Cab Pickups only. They are not compatible with other Ford models or Super Duty body styles.
Yes. Five 1/8" holes must be drilled through the step pads into the step plates before attaching the pads with TEK screws. No drilling is required for bracket or step mounting.
End cap nuts: 5 lb-ft. All other fasteners (step mounting bolts, bracket fasteners): 19 lb-ft.
Yes. The manual states to follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle. The O-MEGA II steps are universal, but bracket packages are vehicle-specific.
The manual provides suggested pad locations for each vehicle model, but states these are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
