Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, 5500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The O-MEGA II steps (models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, 584088) are universal application products. However, you must use the correct bracket package for your specific vehicle. The manual provides step pad location guides for Silverado/Sierra, Colorado/Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, RAM, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F150, Ford Super Duty, and Toyota Tundra/Tacoma models. For other vehicles, consult the appropriate bracket package instructions. The bracket kit model 571632 is specifically designed for 2009+ Dodge Ram 1500 Quad/Crew Cab Pickups and 2010+ Dodge Ram HD Crew/Mega Cab Pickups and Chassis Cabs.
The manual does not specify the differences between these three models. The service parts list indicates they use different extrusion sizes (69.0, 75.0, and 85.0 inches respectively), available in silver or black finish. Consult the manufacturer or product specification sheet to determine which model is appropriate for your vehicle's bed length.
Yes. 2009 to 2012 RAM trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld. You will need to drill 2 x 5/16" holes for each bracket to achieve proper location. With the bracket in place, mark the pinch weld for drilling, then proceed with the installation using the T-bolt method (steps 2.5 through 2.8). Trucks from 2013 onward have factory obround holes and do not require drilling.
The manual provides two installation methods for bracket kit 571632: one for RAM trucks with threaded inserts in the rocker panel (steps 2.1–2.4) and one for trucks without threaded inserts (steps 2.5–2.10). Inspect your rocker panel to determine which method applies. If you see threaded holes in the rocker panel, use the first method. If not, use the T-bolt weldment method. The manual does not specify which model years have which configuration beyond noting that 2009–2012 trucks lack obround holes in the pinch weld.
The service parts list for models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, 584088 includes: 2 step extrusions (available in 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0" lengths, silver or black), 4 aluminum step pads (Item #552970), 4 plastic end caps (Item #107956), 24 square head screws 5/16-18 x 1" (Item #106880), 24 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (Item #102680), and 20 tek screws #8-18 x 1/2" (Item #107958). You must also obtain the correct bracket package for your vehicle separately.
The bracket kit 571632 includes: 2 front brackets (Items #1 and #2), 1 rear left bracket (Item #3), 1 rear right bracket (Item #4), 12 carriage bolts 1/4-20 x 1" (Item #5), 12 flat washers 1/4" (Item #6), 12 flange nuts 1/4-20 (Item #7), 12 hex head screws M8 x 25mm (Item #8), 12 flat washers 5/16" (Item #9), 6 hex flange nuts M8 (Item #10), 6 T-bolt weldments (Item #11), and 6 plastic bolt retainers (Item #12). The kit is designed for trucks with or without threaded inserts in the rocker panel.
The manual requires a drill with a 1/8" bit for drilling step pad mounting holes and a 5/16" bit for drilling pinch weld holes on 2009–2012 RAM trucks. Standard wrenches or sockets are needed to tighten fasteners to the specified torque values (5 lb-ft for end cap nuts, 19 lb-ft for step mounting nuts). The manual does not specify other tools or whether a torque wrench is required.
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the service parts list are on hand before starting. Obtain the correct bracket package for your specific vehicle and follow its instructions to mount the brackets. Do not attach the steps to the brackets until the brackets are properly installed on the vehicle.
Before attaching the steps to the brackets, place the step pads (Item #2) on top of the step plates. Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 to position the pads for your particular vehicle model. The guide provides two pad locations (Pad A and Pad B) for each vehicle type. Note that these locations are suggestions only and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. Once positioned, drill 5 x 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide, then attach with 5 x #8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (Item #6). Repeat for all step pads.
Install the end caps (Item #3) as shown in Figure 1, tightening the nuts to 5 lb-ft. The manual does not provide additional detail on end cap positioning or orientation beyond the figure reference.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (Item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft. Before final tightening, ensure the step is properly centered and aligned.
1. Place the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) against the pinch weld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 2. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower flange with the two obround holes in the pinch weld. 3. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (Item #5) through the lower flange and pinch weld. 4. Place a 1/4" flat washer (Item #6) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #7) on each bolt, leaving finger-tight. 5. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (Item #8) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9) through the slots on the upper mounting flange, leaving finger-tight. 6. Repeat for the middle (Item #2) and rear (Item #3) brackets on the driver's side. 7. Mirror this process on the passenger side using Item #2 for front, Item #1 for middle, and Item #4 for rear. 8. Install the step plates and adjust brackets before tightening all fasteners.
1. Install the T-bolt weldment (Item #11) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel's vertical wall, inserting the nut end first and leaving the threaded stud exposed. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #12) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. 2. Place the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) against the pinch weld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 3. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower flange with the two obround holes in the pinch weld. 4. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (Item #5) through the lower flange and pinch weld. 5. Place a 1/4" flat washer (Item #6) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #7) on each bolt, leaving finger-tight. 6. Place a flat washer (Item #9) and M8 flange nut (Item #10) on the T-bolt's threaded stud, leaving finger-tight. 7. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 8. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (Item #8) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9), leaving finger-tight. 9. Repeat steps 2.5–2.8 for the middle (Item #2) and rear (Item #3) brackets. 10. Mirror this process on the passenger side using Item #2 for front, Item #1 for middle, and Item #4 for rear. 11. Install the step plates and adjust brackets before tightening all fasteners.
Yes. You must drill 5 x 1/8" holes through the step plates using the step pad as a guide. These holes are used to attach the step pads with 5 x #8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (Item #6). This drilling is required for each step pad installation.
Drilling is required only for 2009–2012 RAM trucks that do not have obround holes in the pinch weld. You will need to drill 2 x 5/16" holes for each bracket. With the bracket in place, mark the pinch weld for drilling. Trucks from 2013 onward have factory obround holes and do not require drilling. RAM trucks without threaded inserts in the rocker panel use T-bolt weldments that do not require drilling.
Tighten the end cap nuts to 5 lb-ft.
Tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws (Item #4) to 19 lb-ft.
The step pad mounting holes are 1/8" diameter. You must drill 5 holes per step pad using a 1/8" drill bit, using the step pad as a guide.
For 2009–2012 RAM trucks without factory obround holes in the pinch weld, drill 2 x 5/16" holes for each bracket.
Step pads are attached with 5 x #8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (Item #6) per pad. These are stainless steel, bronze-plated screws. Drill 5 x 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide before installing the screws.
The steps are mounted using 24 square head screws 5/16-18 x 1" (Item #4, MagniGuard finish) and 24 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (Item #5, stainless steel). The nuts are tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The lower mounting flange uses 12 carriage bolts 1/4-20 x 1" (Item #5, stainless steel, black oxide), 12 flat washers 1/4" (Item #6, stainless steel), and 12 flange nuts 1/4-20 (Item #7, stainless steel). These are left finger-tight during assembly and tightened after step plates are installed and adjusted. The manual does not specify the final torque value for these fasteners.
The upper mounting flange uses 12 hex head screws M8 x 25mm (Item #8, zinc-plated) and 12 flat washers 5/16" (Item #9, zinc-plated). These are left finger-tight during assembly and tightened after step plates are installed and adjusted. The manual does not specify the final torque value for these fasteners.
The T-bolt weldment (Item #11, zinc-plated) uses a flat washer 5/16" (Item #9, zinc-plated) and a hex flange nut M8 (Item #10, zinc-plated). These are left finger-tight during assembly and tightened after step plates are installed and adjusted. The manual does not specify the final torque value for these fasteners.
All fasteners on the bracket kit 571632 should be left finger-tight during the initial assembly steps. Tighten all fasteners only after the step plates are installed and the brackets and boards are adjusted to the correct position. The manual does not specify the final torque values for the bracket fasteners.
The O-MEGA II is a universal step, but you must use the correct bracket package for your vehicle. The manual provides step pad location guides for Silverado/Sierra, Colorado/Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, RAM, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F150, Ford Super Duty, and Toyota Tundra/Tacoma. Bracket kit 571632 is specifically for 2009+ Dodge Ram 1500 and 2010+ Dodge Ram HD trucks.
Yes. You must drill 5 x 1/8" holes per step pad to attach the pads with tek screws. For 2009–2012 Dodge RAM trucks without factory obround holes, you must also drill 2 x 5/16" holes in the pinch weld for each bracket.
You need a drill with 1/8" and 5/16" bits (the latter only for 2009–2012 RAM trucks), and wrenches or sockets to tighten fasteners to 5 lb-ft and 19 lb-ft.
End cap nuts: 5 lb-ft. Step mounting nuts (5/16" serrated flange nuts): 19 lb-ft. Bracket kit 571632 final torque values are not specified in the manual.
Yes. Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 to position Pad A and Pad B for your vehicle model. These are suggestions only and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. Drill 5 x 1/8" holes per pad and attach with tek screws before mounting the steps to the brackets.
Read the complete instructions and verify all required parts are on hand before starting. Obtain the correct bracket package for your vehicle and follow its instructions to mount the brackets first. Do not attach the steps to the brackets until the brackets are properly installed.
The manual warns to be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel. To prevent this, attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #12) to the threaded stud of the T-bolt immediately after inserting it into the obround hole. The retainer keeps the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel.
