Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The O-MEGA II 6" oval steps are designed for universal application and can be fitted to various vehicles. However, the step pad positioning varies by vehicle model. The manual provides a step pad location guide for Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, RAM, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F150, Ford Super Duty, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma models. For vehicles not listed, pad positions may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. Installation requires a compatible bracket package specific to your vehicle.
The SES/GRIP step brackets are designed for 09-16 RAM Crew Cab, Quad Cab, and Mega Cab pickups only. Installation on other vehicles is not supported by this manual.
Yes. The orientation of the rear mounting bracket differs between Quad/Crew Cab pickups and Mega Cab pickups. Additionally, light duty pickups use the lower hole locations for the rear outboard bracket attachment, while heavy duty pickups use the upper hole locations. The manual references Figure 2 for Quad/Crew Cab installation and Figure 3 for Mega Cab installation for rear bracket orientation details.
No. Heavy duty pickups with diesel engines will not use the center load reaction stud. Only the front and rear load reaction studs are installed on these vehicles.
Yes. If there is a cast iron dampener on the rear body mount of a 1500 pickup, it must be removed and will not be reused. This applies only to 1500 pickups, not heavy duty models.
The O-MEGA II kit includes: 2 extrusions (aluminum, 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0" in silver or black), 4 step pads (aluminum, black), 4 end caps (plastic, 2.95 x 6.70), 24 square head screws (5/16-18 x 1"), 24 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 20 tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2", stainless steel). The specific extrusion length depends on the model ordered (583072, 583078, or 583088 for one pair; 584072, 584078, or 584088 for another pair).
The SES/GRIP bracket kit includes: mounting brackets (front, center, rear inboard and outboard, left and right), M12 hex head bolts (110mm and 160mm lengths), flat washers (2.0" and 1/2"), rubber cushion washers, 3/8" flat washers, 3/8" serrated flange nuts, load reaction studs (3" and 4" double-ended), and 3/8-16 hex head screws with flat washers. Specific quantities and part numbers are listed in the service parts list.
The manual specifies that you will need a drill with a 1/8" drill bit to drill holes for attaching the step pads to the step plates. The manual does not specify other tools required, such as wrenches or sockets, but standard hand tools for tightening bolts and nuts will be needed.
Yes. The manual explicitly states: "FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED WITH THE SPECIFIC BRACKET PACKAGE THAT YOU ARE USING, TO MOUNT THE BRACKETS TO YOUR VEHICLE." The O-MEGA II step installation instructions assume the brackets are already installed per their own separate instructions.
Yes. The manual states: "READ INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL REQUIRED PARTS (LISTED ON THE SERVICE PARTS LIST) ARE ON HAND BEFORE STARTING THE INSTALLATION." This applies to both the O-MEGA II steps and the SES/GRIP brackets.
Before attaching the O-MEGA II steps to the brackets, place the step pads on top of the step plates. Use the step pad location guide on sheet 2 of the manual to position the pads for your specific vehicle model. The guide provides measurements for Pad A and Pad B positions for various Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, RAM, Dodge, Ford, and Toyota models. The note states these are suggestions and pads may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Yes. When installing the step pads on the steps, you must drill 5 holes using a 1/8" drill bit, using the step pad as a guide. The pads are then attached with 5 tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2", stainless steel) provided in the kit. This process is repeated for all step pads.
1. On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards to the bottom of the thread. 2. Install a 3/8" flat washer and rubber cushion washer tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 3. On the long threaded end of the stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards to near the bottom of the threads. Use a 4" stud (item 16) for the front bracket and a 3" stud (item 15) for the rear brackets. Heavy duty pickups with diesel engines do not use the center load reaction stud.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame side) through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut on the outboard end of the stud, leaving it finger tight only at this stage. The studs will be fully tightened later after positioning.
Using an M12 – 110mm bolt (item 9) and a 2.0" washer (item 11), install the front mounting bracket to the front body mount. Leave these fasteners finger tight initially. The factory front body mount bolt must be removed first and will not be reused.
Using an M12 – 110mm bolt (item 9) and a 2.0" washer (item 11), install the center mounting bracket to the center body mount. Leave these fasteners finger tight initially. The factory center body mount bolt must be removed first and will not be reused.
For light duty pickups, use an M12 – 110mm bolt (item 9). For heavy duty pickups, use an M12 – 160mm bolt (item 10). In both cases, use a 1/2" flat washer (item 18). Install the rear mounting bracket to the rear body mount and leave these fasteners finger tight initially. The factory rear body mount bolt must be removed first and will not be reused. The orientation of the rear bracket differs between Quad/Crew Cab and Mega Cab pickups.
Attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (items 7 or 8) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (items 5 or 6) using three 3/8-16 x 1.0 screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (items 17, 13, 14). For light duty pickups, install in the lower hole locations. For heavy duty pickups, install in the upper hole locations.
Position the O-MEGA II step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (item 4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item 5) on the square head screws (item 4) and tighten to 19 lb ft.
Install the end caps (item 3) as shown in Figure 1, tightening the nuts to 5 lb ft. The manual references Figure 1 for proper end cap installation orientation.
1. Ensure the bracket package is installed per its own instructions. 2. Place step pads on the step plates, positioned according to your vehicle model. 3. Drill 5 holes using a 1/8" drill bit and attach pads with tek screws. 4. Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 5. Install end caps, tightening nuts to 5 lb ft. 6. Position the step on the mounting brackets with square head screws in the bracket slots, centered front to rear. 7. Install and tighten 5/16" serrated flange nuts to 19 lb ft.
The end cap nuts on the O-MEGA II steps must be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws (item 4) that attach the O-MEGA II step to the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 lb ft.
The 3/8" serrated flange nuts on either side of the load reaction stud assembly must be tightened to 19 lb ft. The studs should be positioned so the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame before final tightening.
A 1/8" drill bit is required to drill the 5 holes for attaching the step pads to the step plates.
The end of the load reaction stud must be recessed in the rubber cushion washer approximately 3/16".
Yes. The M12 bolts attaching the front, center, and rear mounting brackets to the body mounts should be left finger tight initially. The load reaction stud flange nuts should also be left finger tight initially. These fasteners are tightened to their final torque specification (19 lb ft for the load reaction studs) only after the studs are positioned with the rubber cushion snug against the frame.
The SES/GRIP brackets fit 09-16 RAM Crew Cab, Quad Cab, and Mega Cab pickups only. For other vehicles, a different bracket package is required.
Yes. The O-MEGA II steps require a compatible bracket package installed per its own instructions before the steps can be attached.
Tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws to 19 lb ft. Tighten the end cap nuts to 5 lb ft.
Tighten the 3/8" serrated flange nuts on either side of the load reaction stud assembly to 19 lb ft after positioning the rubber cushion snug against the frame.
Verify that all required parts listed in the service parts list are on hand, and read the complete instructions before starting. For the SES/GRIP brackets, also follow the separate bracket package instructions.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts on the right side of the vehicle. These bolts will not be reused. For 1500 pickups, also remove any cast iron dampener on the rear body mount.
No. Heavy duty pickups with diesel engines do not use the center load reaction stud; only the front and rear studs are installed.
