Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Ram 2500 and 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Five 8-18 X 1/2" TEK screws (Item #6) are used to attach each step pad. You will drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide, then attach the pad with the provided TEK screws. Five screws are required per pad, and the manual provides 30 screws total in the package.
The O-MEGA II steps are attached to the mounting brackets using square head bolts (Item #4) that fit into slots in the bottom of the step plates, and 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5). The square head bolts are inserted into the slots of the mounting brackets, and the serrated flange nuts are tightened to 19 LB FT.
The end caps (Item #3) are attached using fasteners that are tightened to 5 LB FT. The specific fastener type is not detailed in the manual, but the torque specification is 5 LB FT.
Yes. The manual states that you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle. The O-MEGA II step installation instructions assume the brackets are already installed. The bracket package instructions are not included in this manual.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" holes in the step plates using the step pad as a guide. The step pad is then attached with five 8-18 X 1/2" TEK screws (Item #6). This drilling is required for each step pad you install.
The end caps (Item #3) must be tightened to 5 LB FT.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) that secure the square head screws (Item #4) to the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 LB FT.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts from the right side of the vehicle. These factory bolts will not be reused. They are replaced with M12 – 110MM bolts (Item #9) for the front and center mounts. For the rear mount, use M12 – 110MM bolts (Item #9) on light duty pickups or M12 – 160MM bolts (Item #10) on heavy duty pickups.
Yes, if your RAM 1500 pickup has a cast iron dampener on the rear body mount, you must remove it. This dampener will not be reused. Heavy duty pickups do not have this dampener.
For each load reaction stud: (1) Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #14) backwards to the bottom of the short threaded end. (2) Install a 3/8" flat washer (Item #13) and rubber cushion washer (Item #12) tight against the serrated flange nut, with the stud end recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". (3) On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #14) backwards near the bottom of the threads. Use a 4" stud (Item #16) for the front bracket and a 3" stud (Item #15) for the rear brackets. Heavy duty pickups with diesel engines do not use the center load reaction stud.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #14) on the outboard end of the stud, finger tight only. Do not fully tighten until later.
Using an M12 – 110MM bolt (Item #9) and a 2.0" washer (Item #11), install the front mounting bracket (Item #1 or #2, depending on SES or GRIP version) to the front body mount. Leave these fasteners finger tight initially; do not fully tighten until all brackets are installed.
Using an M12 – 110MM bolt (Item #9) and a 2.0" washer (Item #11), install the center mounting bracket (Item #3 or #4, depending on SES or GRIP version) to the center body mount. Leave these fasteners finger tight initially; do not fully tighten until all brackets are installed.
For light duty RAM pickups, use an M12 – 110MM bolt (Item #9) and a ½" flat washer (Item #18). For heavy duty RAM pickups, use an M12 – 160MM bolt (Item #10) and a ½" flat washer (Item #18). Install the rear mounting bracket (Item #5 or #6) to the rear body mount. Leave these fasteners finger tight initially. The orientation of the rear bracket differs between Quad/Crew Cab and Mega Cab pickups; refer to the appropriate figure in the manual.
Attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (Item #7 or #8) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (Item #5 or #6) using three 3/8-16 X 1.0" screws (Item #17), 3/8" flat washers (Item #13), and 3/8" flange nuts (Item #14). For light duty pickups, install in the lower hole locations. For heavy duty pickups, install in the upper hole locations. Refer to Figure 1 in the manual for hole location details.
After positioning the load reaction stud assembly so that the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame, tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 LB FT.
The manual instructs you to leave the mounting bracket fasteners finger tight during initial installation (Steps 4.1, 4.2, and 4.4). The manual does not explicitly state when to fully tighten these fasteners, but it does specify that the load reaction stud nuts should be tightened to 19 LB FT after the studs are positioned (Step 6). Refer to the specific bracket package instructions for the final tightening sequence.
No. The orientation of the rear bracket differs between Quad/Crew Cab pickups and Mega Cab pickups. If installing on a Quad/Crew Cab pickup, refer to Figure 2. If installing on a Mega Cab pickup, refer to Figure 3 in the manual for the correct orientation.
