LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.

The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are available in nine models: 583098, 583102, 583108, 583114, 583125, 584098, 584102, 584114, and 584125. The specific model for your vehicle depends on the bracket package you are using.
The W2W MEGA STEP BRACKETS model 571338 are designed specifically for 2013-2015 RAM 3500 Pickups. If your RAM is a different year or model (such as 2009-2012), it will not fit without modifications. Trucks from 2009-2012 do not have obround holes in the pinch weld and will require drilling 2 additional 5/16" holes for each bracket.
The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are a universal application. Step pad location guides are provided for Silverado/Sierra (Double Cab, Extended Cab, Crew Cab), Chevrolet Express Van, GMC Savana Van, RAM (Quad Cab, Crew Cab, Mega Cab), Ford F150 (Super Cab, Super Crew Cab), and Ford Super Duty (Super Cab, Crew Cab). The pad locations shown are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Each O-MEGA II step kit includes: 2 aluminum extrusions (available in silver or black, in lengths 95.0", 99.0", 105.0", 111.0", or 122.0"), 6 aluminum step pads, 4 plastic end caps, 28 square head bolts (5/16-18 x 1"), 28 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 30 TEK screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). You must also obtain the specific bracket package for your vehicle.
The W2W MEGA STEP BRACKETS kit includes: 2 front mounting brackets (one left-hand, one right-hand), 2 middle mounting brackets (one left-hand, one right-hand), 1 rear left bracket, 1 rear right bracket, 2 lower mounting brackets, 2 upper mounting brackets, 12 carriage bolts (1/4-20 x 1"), 12 flat washers (1/4"), 12 flange nuts (1/4-20), 12 hex head screws (M8 x 25mm), 12 flat washers (5/16"), 6 hex flange nuts (M8), 6 T-bolt weldments, 6 plastic bolt retainers, 6 flat washers (3/8"), 6 serrated flange nuts (3/8-16), and 6 hex head screws (3/8-16 x 1.0").
Yes. The O-MEGA II steps are a universal product, but you must obtain and install the specific bracket package designed for your vehicle. The installation instructions for your bracket package must be followed separately. The steps themselves are then attached to these brackets.
Yes. The manual explicitly instructs you to read the instructions completely and check that all required parts listed on the Service Parts List are on hand before starting the installation. This applies to both the O-MEGA II steps and the W2W MEGA STEP BRACKETS.
Yes. You must drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter in each step plate to attach the step pads. Use the step pad as a guide and attach the pads with 5 TEK screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). Repeat this for all step pads. This drilling is required for every installation.
No drilling is required for 2013-2015 RAM 3500 Pickups, as these trucks have obround holes already present in the pinch weld. However, if you are installing on a 2009-2012 RAM truck, you will need to drill 2 additional 5/16" holes for each bracket in the pinch weld. Mark the pinch weld with the bracket in place before drilling.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide on Sheet 2 to position the pads for your specific vehicle. The guide provides two pad locations (Pad A and Pad B) for each vehicle model. For example, on a Silverado/Sierra Double Cab, Pad A is positioned 14-3/4" from one end and Pad B at 46-3/4". Note that due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly. The pad locations shown are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Install the end caps (Item #3) as shown in Figure 1, tightening the nuts to 5 LB FT. The end caps are plastic components that seal the ends of the step extrusions.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (Item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 LB FT.
1. Attach the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) to the pinch weld using two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (Item #7), flat washers (Item #8), and flange nuts (Item #9), leaving them finger tight. 2. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (Item #10) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #11) through the upper mounting flange slots, leaving it finger tight. 3. Repeat for the middle (Item #2) and rear (Item #3) brackets. 4. For the passenger side, use Item #2 for the front bracket, Item #1 for the middle bracket, and Item #4 for the rear bracket (mirror image). 5. Attach the upper mounting bracket (Item #6) to the leaf spring shackle by loosening the leaf spring bolt, sliding the bracket between the bolt head and frame bracket, then fastening with a 3/8" bolt, washer, and serrated flange nut (Items #15, #17, #16). Tighten the leaf spring bolt ensuring the bracket is level. 6. Fasten the lower bracket (Item #5) to the upper bracket using a 3/8" bolt, washer, and flange nut through the two lower holes, ensuring it sits level to the front brackets. 7. Install the step plates and adjust all brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners.
1. Install the T-bolt weldment (Item #13) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel vertical wall, inserting the nut end first and leaving the threaded stud sticking out. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #14) to the threaded stud to prevent it from falling into the rocker panel. 2. Attach the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) to the pinch weld using two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (Item #7), flat washers (Item #8), and flange nuts (Item #9), leaving them finger tight. 3. Place a flat washer (Item #10) and M8 flange nut (Item #12) on the T-bolt threaded stud, leaving it finger tight. 4. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange, then insert an M8 x 25mm screw (Item #10) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #11), leaving it finger tight. 5. Repeat steps 2.5-2.8 for the middle (Item #2) and rear (Item #3) brackets. 6. For the passenger side, use Item #2 for the front bracket, Item #1 for the middle bracket, and Item #4 for the rear bracket (mirror image). 7. Attach the upper mounting bracket (Item #6) to the leaf spring shackle and lower bracket (Item #5) as described in Steps 3.1-3.2. 8. Install the step plates and adjust all brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners.
You should leave fasteners finger tight during assembly and adjust the brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners. This applies to both the O-MEGA II steps and the W2W MEGA STEP BRACKETS. Final tightening should occur only after the step plates are installed and all components are properly positioned and level.
The end cap nuts should be tightened to 5 LB FT.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws (Item #4) should be tightened to 19 LB FT.
Five 1/8" diameter holes are drilled in each step plate using the step pad as a guide. These holes are used to attach the step pads with #8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws.
For 2009-2012 RAM trucks without obround holes in the pinch weld, you must drill 2 additional 5/16" holes for each bracket. Position the bracket in place and mark the pinch weld before drilling.
The lower mounting flange uses two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (Item #7), 1/4" flat washers (Item #8), and 1/4-20 flange nuts (Item #9). These are left finger tight during assembly and tightened after all components are positioned and level.
The upper mounting flange uses an M8 x 25mm screw (Item #10) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #11). This is left finger tight during assembly and tightened after all components are positioned and level.
The T-bolt weldment (Item #13) is inserted into the large obround hole in the rocker panel with the nut end first. A flat washer (Item #10) and M8 flange nut (Item #12) are placed on the threaded stud, left finger tight. An M8 x 25mm screw (Item #10) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #11) is then inserted through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange, left finger tight. All fasteners are tightened after positioning and leveling.
The upper mounting bracket (Item #6) is attached to the leaf spring shackle using a 3/8" bolt and washer (Items #15, #17) fastened with a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #16). The leaf spring bolt is tightened after the bracket is in place, ensuring the bracket is level. The lower bracket (Item #5) is then fastened to the upper bracket using a 3/8" bolt, washer, and flange nut (Items #15, #16, #17) through the two lower holes, ensuring it sits level to the front brackets.
