LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The O-MEGA II package includes two extrusion assemblies (available in silver or black, in lengths of 95.0", 99.0", 105.0", 111.0", or 122.0"), step pads, end caps, square head bolts, serrated flange nuts, and TEK screws. The exact extrusion length depends on your vehicle model. Refer to the service parts list for the complete inventory of fasteners and components included.
The O-MEGA II is a universal application step. However, the manual provides specific step pad location guidance for Silverado/Sierra (double, extended, crew cab), Chevrolet Express/GMC Savana vans, RAM (quad, crew, mega cab), Ford F150 (super cab, super crew cab), and Ford Super Duty (super cab, crew cab). For other vehicles, consult the bracket package instructions or contact the manufacturer for fitment confirmation.
The 571729 W2W MEGA STEP/SES brackets are designed for 2017+ Ford Super Duty pickups using a rocker panel mount, no-drill application. The manual notes that if installing on a regular cab or super cab, there will be two unused brackets, indicating the system is designed for crew cab configuration but can be adapted to other cab styles.
The manual does not specify required tools. However, the installation process involves drilling five 1/8" holes per step pad, installing fasteners with specified torque values, and tightening nuts. You will need a drill with a 1/8" bit, a torque wrench, and standard hand tools (wrench or socket set for 5/16" and 8-18 fasteners). Consult the bracket package instructions for any additional tools needed for bracket installation.
The manual does not specify required tools. However, the installation involves loosening and tightening bolts on the spring shackle, installing fasteners with specified torque values (80 lb-ft for the rear inboard bracket), and using a torque wrench. You will need a torque wrench, standard hand tools (wrench or socket set for M8 and 5/16" fasteners), and possibly a jack or lift to access the rocker panel and spring shackle areas safely.
The manual does not mention disconnecting the battery. The O-MEGA II is a mechanical step assembly with no electrical components, so battery disconnection is not required.

Yes. Step 2 of the O-MEGA II instructions states: "Follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package that you are using, to mount the brackets to your vehicle." The bracket package must be installed first, and you must follow the specific instructions included with your bracket package before proceeding to attach the step assembly.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide table on page 2 to find the correct distances for Pad A and Pad B for your vehicle model. The note states that due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first, approximately ½" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly. Pad locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Yes. Step 3 requires drilling five 1/8" holes per step pad using the step pad as a guide. The holes are then used to attach the pads with five 8-18 X 1/2" TEK screws (item #6).
No. The 571729 is described as a "no-drill application." The brackets mount to factory-provided studs on the inside of the rocker panel and to the spring shackle bolt without requiring any drilling.
The end cap nuts must be tightened to 5 lb-ft. This is specified in Step 5 of the O-MEGA II instructions.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws (item #4) must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. This is specified in Step 6 of the O-MEGA II instructions.
The rear inboard bracket (item #8) must be tightened to 80 lb-ft. This is specified in Step 5 of the 571729 instructions when installing the bracket behind the spring shackle nut.
Five 8-18 X 1/2" TEK screws (item #6, stainless steel, bright zinc plated) are used per step pad. The screws are installed through five 1/8" holes drilled in the step plate using the step pad as a guide.
Two 1.5" isolator washers (item #3, nylon, 0.36" X 1.5" X 0.032", black) and two M8-1.25 flange nuts (item #4, zinc plated) are installed per bracket on the factory-provided studs on the inside of the rocker panel.
Two 5/16-18 X 1" bolts (item #6, bright zinc plated), two 5/16" flat washers (item #7, bright zinc plated), and two 5/16-18 flange nuts (item #5, bright zinc plated) are used to install the outboard bracket (item #10). These bolts are left loose initially and tightened after the step board is attached and the rear outboard bracket is adjusted.
On the left side, install two 1.5" isolator washers (item #3), the step mounting bracket (item #2), and two M8-1.25 flange nuts (item #4) on the factory-provided studs on the inside of the rocker panel. Repeat for the remaining brackets on both sides. Check that all brackets are level and tighten all flange nuts. The manual does not specify a torque value for these rocker panel fasteners.
Loosen the nut and bolt on the spring shackle just enough to slip the rear inboard bracket (item #8) behind the nut. On the passenger side, loosen the nut and slide the bolt outward to install the bracket. Do not remove the bolt completely as this could result in injury. Adjust the bracket so it is vertical and tighten to 80 lb-ft.
Using two 5/16-18 X 1" bolts (item #6), two 5/16" flat washers (item #7), and two 5/16-18 flange nuts (item #5), install the outboard bracket (item #10) as shown in Figure 2. Leave this bracket loose at this time. After attaching the step board and adjusting the rear outboard bracket for your step assembly, tighten the bolts securing the outboard bracket to the inboard bracket.
1. Install rocker panel brackets (left and right sides) with isolator washers and flange nuts on factory studs. 2. Check that all brackets are level and tighten flange nuts. 3. Loosen spring shackle bolt and install rear inboard bracket; tighten to 80 lb-ft. 4. Install outboard bracket with bolts and washers (leave loose). 5. Attach step board per its instruction sheet. 6. Adjust rear outboard bracket and tighten bolts. 7. Repeat steps 1-6 for the right side.
Do not remove the spring shackle bolt completely, as this could result in injury. Only loosen it enough to slip the rear inboard bracket behind the nut. On the passenger side, loosen the nut and slide the bolt outward carefully. Ensure all brackets are level before final tightening, and verify that all fasteners are tightened to the specified torque values before using the step.
Read the instructions completely and check that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand before starting the installation. This is stated in Step 1 of the O-MEGA II instructions.
