This, combined with the classic styling of popular nerf bars, allows Regal 7 oval side steps to easily live up to their name. Each is set with full-width step pads that offer a non-skid surface for ultimate comfort and safety. They are also capped on each end with contoured end caps, giving them a professional look and added protection against small rocks and road debris. Both the step pads and end caps are factory-installed and securely bolted in place. To make sure these deluxe side steps maintain their classy appearance, we construct them from stainless steel. This gives them the durability to outlast rust through every season of the year, and the strength to be offer reliable footing with every climb. They are available in a high-polish stainless steel finish for a bright, eye-catching shine or a durable black powder coat for a tough, no-nonsense accent. When it comes to our Regal 7 oval side steps, we don't trust anyone else to build them with uncompromising quality. We design each one for a vehicle-specific fit. This particular set of side steps is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify vehicle fitment). They install using a 3" wide channel on the bottom side and high-strength steel brackets with a durable black powder coat finish (NOTE: The mounting brackets for these steps are included but shipped separately).

Yes. The REGAL 7 oval steps are available in three lengths: model 477078 (76"), model 477088 (86"), and model 477098 (96"). The black versions are model 277078 (76") and model 277088 (86"). Choose the length that matches your truck bed. The manual does not specify which bed length each model fits, so verify the correct model for your vehicle before ordering.
The steps are pre-assembled from the factory. The serial number label is located on the front inside driver's side step assembly. You only need to attach the pre-assembled step to the mounting brackets using the supplied fasteners.
For each step, the kit includes 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolts, flat washers, and serrated flange nuts (items #10, #11, #12). The service parts list shows 16 of each fastener per complete step assembly. You will also need the support mounting plates (item #9) that slide inside the oval step.
The bracket kit includes: 3/8"-16 x 1.0" hex head screws (item #13, 12 supplied), 3/8" flat washers (item #10, 20 supplied), 3/8" serrated flange nuts (item #11, 30 supplied), 3/8"-16 double-ended studs (item #12, 6 supplied), rubber cushion washers (item #9, 6 supplied), and additional flat washers (item #15, 2 supplied). All fasteners are zinc-plated steel except where noted as stainless steel.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts and replace them with the mounting brackets. The manual warns that 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra vehicles have excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area, so use caution when removing these bolts. After installation, torque the body mount fasteners to the manufacturer's specifications (not provided in this manual).
1. Set the step on the mounting brackets. 2. Slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and above each bracket. 3. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolt, washer, and serrated flange nut (items #10, #11, #12), attach the step assembly, support mounting plate, and mounting bracket. 4. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners. Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT.
On the left side of the vehicle, assemble the front bracket (items #1, #3, #14) using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (items #10, #11, #13). Torque to 19 LB FT. A right-side front bracket (item #2) is also supplied and should be assembled the same way.
1. On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #12), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #11) backwards to the bottom of the thread. 2. Install a 3/8" flat washer (item #10) and rubber cushion washer (item #9) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 3. On the long threaded end of the stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #11) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #11) on the outboard end of the stud, finger tight only at this stage. Do not fully tighten until Step 7.
1. Install the front mounting bracket (items #1, #3) to the front body mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. 2. Install the center mounting bracket (item #4) to the center body mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. 3. Install the rear mounting bracket (item #8) and washer (item #15) to the rear body mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. 4. Attach the rear outboard bracket (item #6) to the rear inboard bracket (item #8) using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, flat washers, and flange nuts (items #13, #10, #11), torqued to 19 LB FT. The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side (toward the rear of the vehicle) of the rear inboard bracket. Confirm you are using the correct holes for your cab style (Double Cab or Crew Cab) as shown in Figures 2 and 3.
After all brackets are installed finger tight and the step boards are attached per their instructions, position the load reaction bolt assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame. Then tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 LB FT. Finally, torque the body mount fasteners to the manufacturer's specifications (not provided in this manual). Repeat the entire process for the right side of the vehicle.
All 5/16" fasteners on the REGAL 7 oval steps must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
All 3/8" fasteners on the 401743 bracket kit must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This includes the front bracket pre-assembly, the rear outboard to rear inboard bracket connection, and the load reaction stud flange nuts.
The manual states that body mount fasteners must be torqued to the manufacturer's specifications, but does not provide those values. Contact GM or your vehicle's service manual for the correct torque specification for your 2015+ GM 2500/3500HD body mount bolts.
The 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra vehicles have excessive thread locker applied to the body mount bolts in the factory assembly. This thread locker can make the bolts difficult to remove. Use caution and appropriate tools when removing these bolts to avoid stripping or breaking them. If you encounter resistance, allow penetrating oil to soak and try again rather than forcing the bolt.
The rubber cushion washer (item #9) provides a cushioned interface between the stud and the vehicle frame. It must be recessed approximately 3/16" into the end of the stud and positioned snug against the side wall of the frame to absorb vibration and protect the frame from direct metal-to-metal contact.
