Regal 7 wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for practical access to the bed of your truck, featuring an extended length and extra rear step pads. Wheel-to-wheel running boards give you a solid step up for easily reaching items in the truck bed, such as a truck tool box, ladder rack, 5th wheel hitch or other equipment. Regal 7 oval side steps are fitted with large, non-skid step pads. They feature a 7" width and a textured surface, providing enhanced comfort and safety when climbing in and out of your pickup truck. The step pads and matching end caps of Regal 7 wheel-to-wheel steps are angled for a sleek accent. To ensure excellent strength and lasting corrosion resistance, Regal 7 oval side steps are constructed from stainless steel. The stainless steel tubing measures 7" wide and has an elliptical shape for style and strength. All Regal 7 side steps are designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific brackets. The brackets are built from strong carbon steel and have a durable black powder coat finish. They install using pre-existing mounting points on the truck to greatly reduce installation time and eliminate tedious modifications. This particular set of LUVERNE Regal 7 oval wheel-to-wheel steps is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).

The Regal 7 Oval Step is pre-assembled from the factory. Each package includes the step assembly, support mounting plates, end caps, step pads, fasteners (carriage bolts, hex head screws, nuts, washers), and hardware for attachment to mounting brackets. The serial number label is located on the front inside of the driver's side step assembly. Verify all parts listed in the service parts list are present before installation.
The model 401117 wheel to wheel step brackets are designed for 1999 GM Silverado and Sierra pickups in Regular, Extended, and Crew Cab configurations.
Yes. Extended Cab models are 477097 (96"), 477101 (100"), and 477113 (112"). Crew Cab models are 477102 (100"), 477108 (106"), 477114 (112"), and 477125 (123"). Each model has left-hand and right-hand step assemblies with different part numbers. Verify your cab style and bed length before ordering.
Yes. If mounting the steps on a 1500 model pickup, you must attach bracket item #14 (90 degree, 3 holes) to brackets items #1 and #2 in order to use the load reaction stud. This is required for proper load distribution on 1500 models.
The step is attached using supplied 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolts (item #10), flat washers (item #11), and serrated flange nuts (item #12). One fastener set is used per support mounting plate. All 5/16" fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
Yes. The manual states you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle. The Regal 7 Oval Step instructions cover only the attachment of the step to the brackets; bracket installation is covered separately.
1. Set the step on the mounting brackets. 2. Slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and above each bracket. 3. Insert the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolt through the support mounting plate and bracket, add a flat washer and serrated flange nut. 4. Set the step plate in the correct position. 5. Tighten all fasteners and torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT.
1. Assemble the load reaction studs with hardware (items #8-#11) as specified. 2. Attach the load reaction stud assemblies to the body mounting brackets. 3. Remove factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts one side at a time. 4. Install front mounting brackets (items #1 & #2) to the front cab mount, finger tight. 5. Install center mounting brackets (items #3 & #4) to the center cab mount, finger tight. 6. Install rear inboard mounting bracket (item #7) and washer (item #13) to the rear cab mount, finger tight. 7. For Extended Cab, attach rear outboard brackets (items #5 & #6) to rear inboard bracket using bottom single hole and top double holes. For Crew Cab, use bottom single hole and bottom double holes. Torque these bolts to 19 LB FT. 8. Attach spring hanger mounting brackets (items #22 & #23). 9. Attach the step assembly per step assembly instructions. 10. Tighten body mount bolts and spring hanger bolt per manufacturer specifications.
1. On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #11), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #10) backwards to the bottom of the thread. 2. Install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #9) and rubber cushion washer (item #8) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 3. On the long threaded end of the stud, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #10) backwards to near the bottom of the threads.
1. Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough so the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #23) can be slid up behind the flange of the bolt. 2. Position the inboard bracket behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. 3. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #22) so its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket, using a 3/8" zinc plated bolt (item #20), 3/8" washer (item #21), 1/2" washer (item #18), and 3/8" zinc plated nylock nut (item #19). 4. Do not tighten these bolts until the bracket is attached to the step assembly. 5. After step assembly attachment, tighten the spring hanger bolt per manufacturer specifications.
No. All body mount bolts and the spring hanger bolt should be left finger tight during bracket installation. Tighten them to manufacturer specifications only after the step assembly is fully attached and all other fasteners are in place.
All 5/16" fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This applies to the hex bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts that attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets.
The 3/8" black zinc plated bolts (item #12) that attach the rear outboard cab mounting brackets (items #5 & #6) to the rear inboard cab mounting bracket (item #7) must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
Use caution when removing the body mount bolts on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra models. These vehicles have excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area. Removing the bolts carelessly risks causing damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
Curt Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
