Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Reinforcement brackets are included in the installation kit for vehicles without a factory step bumper. If your vehicle has a factory step bumper, the reinforcement brackets are not used and may be discarded.
Vehicles without a factory step bumper: Install reinforcement brackets into the frame rails using 1/2" X 1.25" hex bolts, then install M12 X 1.75 X 45mm bolts through the receiver, frame rail, and reinforcement bracket, securing with a 1/2" lockwasher and M12 nut. Vehicles with a factory step bumper: Remove the 12mm hex bolts from each end of the frame, then install M12 X 1.75 X 45mm bolts through the receiver and into the existing weld nuts. Discard the reinforcement brackets, M12 nuts, and related fasteners.
1. If equipped with a factory step bumper, remove and discard the 12mm hex bolts from each end of the frame. 2. For vehicles without a factory step bumper, bolt the reinforcement brackets into the inside end of each frame rail using 1/2" X 1.25" hex bolts, 1/2" hex nuts, and lockwashers; the brackets should rest against the frame rail lower flanges. 3. Lift the receiver into position, centering it over the existing holes in the frame. 4. Install the M12 X 1.75 X 45mm hex bolts and 1/2" conical toothed washers (procedure differs by step bumper type). 5. Enlarge the center attachment hole to 9/16". 6. Install the remaining fasteners as shown, placing the blocks inside the frame rails.

All 1/2 GR5 fasteners must be tightened to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N·M) using a torque wrench.

The hitch supports two configurations: Weight Distributing with a maximum gross trailer weight of 13,000 lbs (5902 kg) and maximum tongue weight of 1,300 lbs (590 kg); Weight Carrying Ball Mount with a maximum gross trailer weight of 10,000 lbs (4540 kg) and maximum tongue weight of 1,000 lbs (454 kg). Do not exceed the lower of the towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. If the hitch is damaged, it must be removed and replaced.
