UWS wedge utility chest boxes provide unbeatable storage and security for your items in the bed of your truck and on the jobsite. Each box features a corrosion-resistant aluminum construction, a stainless steel locking system and a patented RigidCore foam-filled lid -- all to keep your equipment and valuables safe, well-organized and easily accessible whenever needed. This particular tool box features a wedged design to optimize storage space without obstructing other accessories in the truck bed, including the wheel wells. Each UWS truck tool box is constructed from extra-thick aluminum for increased structural strength. The tub is welded together into a single piece for weather resistance and to easily hold heavy tools and other items. The lid features a patented foam core, sandwiched between two aluminum plates. This core greatly increases the rigidity of the lid and helps prevent bending and warping, making operation very smooth. The locking mechanism of the UWS truck tool box provides excellent security for your items, featuring stainless steel, key-operated paddle handles. Stainless steel construction supplies the locks with long-lasting corrosion resistance, and they feature an internal connecting rod that allows the lid to be opened from either side of the truck. For solid protection against the elements, the lid also has a MicroSeal gasket, blocking moisture, dust and insects from getting inside and damaging your valuables. The lid also opens a full 90 degrees for easier access, and it is equipped with self-opening struts for convenient operation when your hands are full. UWS utility chest boxes are available in multiple sizes to accommodate any storage need. Like all UWS products, each one is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability.

The package includes one utility chest box and two keys. A mounting hardware kit may or may not be included depending on the model. If the kit is not included, you will need to purchase your own hardware: two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers and two lock nuts.
The chest box mounts to truck beds with raised ribs that can be used as alignment points for the two mounting locations. If your truck has a plastic drop-in bed liner, it may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment. Consult your dealer if you have questions about compatibility with your specific vehicle.
You will need: a drill, 11/32" drill bit, 1/2" drill bit, ratchet, socket set, tape measure, and level. A silicone-type caulk is also recommended to seal around fasteners to prevent water seepage.
Not all models include a mounting hardware kit. If your chest box does not include one, you will need to purchase two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers and two lock nuts. Alternatively, if you use the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, follow the instructions included with that kit.
Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Take precaution that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or damage during a collision.
Place the chest box into your desired location and check for proper lid operation. In the bottom of the chest box, select two mounting points that are aligned with the raised ribs in your truck bed. These alignment points will guide your drilling.
Use an 11/32" drill bit to drill through the chest box and truck bed. If you are using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, enlarge the holes in the truck bed with a 1/2" drill bit and follow the instructions included with that kit.
If your truck has a plastic drop-in bed liner, it may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment of the chest box. Check the fit before drilling to determine if trimming is necessary.
The recommended torque specification for 5/16" bolts is 7 ft-lbs. If you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware. Always refer to torque specifications when securing hardware during installation.

Yes. Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. Consult your vehicle's documentation or your dealer for the specific weight limit.
After installation, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Tighten all fasteners to the recommended torque values. Use silicone-type caulk to fill any open areas around bolt flat washers or bonded washers inside the chest box to prevent water seepage.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Before every trip, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten.
