UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. This particular truck tool box features a low profile, meaning the lid is built lower than our standard lid. This provides a better view out the rear cab window and additional clearance for other items in the truck bed, if needed. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. Yes. Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Precaution must be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision. Also read all instructions thoroughly before beginning installation.
Place the tool box in the truck bed and check the clearance with the lid open. Open the tool box lid and ensure there is clearance between the open lid, top and back of the cab. Use a tape measure to ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed. These checks should be performed before fully tightening the hardware.
Attach the adhesive side of the rail pad to the underside of the tool box ends. The rail pads are then placed on top of the truck bed rails to help position and protect the tool box.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one hole and J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle. Attach with a washer and nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten at first. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and allows lid clearance when open, fully tighten all hardware.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline. If purchasing additional hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
