To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. The package includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. A divider tray is included with some models but not all.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The installation is rated as Easy difficulty.
Before final installation, open the tool box lid and ensure there is clearance between the open lid, the top of the cab, and the back of the cab. This check should be performed during Step 1 of installation before the tool box is secured.
The rail pads have an adhesive side that attaches to the underside of the tool box ends. They are placed on top of the truck bed rails to protect the bed and provide a stable mounting surface for the tool box.
Use a tape measure to measure the distance from the tool box to the bed rails on both sides. Adjust the tool box position until it is centered. This should be done before final tightening of the hardware and checked again after the J-hooks are snugged but before final tightening.
