Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

The Draw-tite Class 1 Trailer Hitch, 1-1/4" Square Receiver, Black for Select Honda CR-V 24792 (Part #DT24792) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Part number 24792 is designed for Honda CR-V models from 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2015. If your CR-V is one of these model years, this hitch is compatible. If your vehicle is a different model year, you should verify compatibility with the manufacturer or a fitment specialist before purchasing.
The maximum gross trailer weight is 2000 LB (908 kg) and the maximum tongue weight is 200 LB (90.8 kg). However, you must not exceed the lower of these ratings or your vehicle manufacturer's towing specification, whichever is less.
You will need two wrenches: one 3/4 inch and one 11/16 inch. A torque wrench is also required to tighten fasteners to the specified torque values (50 Lb.-Ft. for 7/16-14 GR5 fasteners and 75 Lb.-Ft. for 1/2-13 GR5 fasteners). No drill bits are needed.
The fastener kit 24792F is included and contains: 2 qty. 7/16-14 X 1.50 carriage bolts GR5, 2 qty. 1/4 X 1.00 X 3.00 spacers, 2 qty. 7/16 conical toothed washers, 2 qty. 7/16 hex nuts, 1 qty. 1/2-13 X 2.50 carriage bolt GR5, 1 qty. 1/4 X 1.00 X 2.00 spacer, 1 qty. 1/2 conical toothed washer, 1 qty. 1/2 hex nut, 2 qty. 1/4 X 1.00 X 2.00 spacers (round hole), and 2 qty. pull wires 7/16 inch.
Yes. The hitch requires a ½ inch pin and clip, which are not included in the fastener kit and must be purchased separately.
No. The drawbar kit 3592 is sold separately and must be purchased if you need a drawbar for your hitch.
You do not need to fully remove the exhaust, but you must lower it. Step 1 requires you to lower the exhaust by removing the rubber isolators from the muffler hangers. After installation is complete, you raise the exhaust back into position and reinstall the rubber isolators in step 7.
No new drilling is required. However, you must enlarge existing holes in both frame rails to allow access for the 1.00 X 3.00 spacers to be inserted. The access hole area must be enlarged by approximately 1 inch as shown in Figure 2. This enlargement is done by expanding the existing hole, not by drilling a new one.
All 7/16-14 GR5 fasteners must be tightened with a torque wrench to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).
All 1/2-13 GR5 fasteners must be tightened with a torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M).
Follow these steps in order: (1) Lower the exhaust by removing rubber isolators from muffler hangers. (2) Enlarge existing holes in both frame rails to allow access for 1.00 X 3.00 spacers as shown in Figure 2. (3) Insert carriage bolts and block into frame rails and raise hitch into position. (4) Loosely install conical toothed washers and hex nuts. (5) Position hitch and loosely install tow hook attachment fasteners. (6) Tighten all fasteners to the required torque specification. (7) Raise exhaust back into position and reinstall rubber isolators.
You must install fasteners loosely first. Steps 4 and 5 require you to loosely install the conical toothed washers, hex nuts, and tow hook attachment fasteners. Only after the hitch is positioned correctly should you tighten all fasteners to the required torque specification in step 6.
The drawbar must be used in the raised position only. Do not operate the hitch with the drawbar in any other position.
After installation, check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual emphasizes that regular inspection is important for safe operation.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair or continue using a damaged hitch or ball.
If the hitch is removed, you must plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
No. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. Use other cutting methods such as a drill, hole saw, or grinding tool.
Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. The manual emphasizes the importance of safe work practices during installation.
This hitch fits Honda CR-V models from 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2015 only. Verify your model year before purchasing.
You need a 3/4 inch wrench and an 11/16 inch wrench, plus a torque wrench to tighten fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. and 75 Lb.-Ft.
Tighten 7/16-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M) and 1/2-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M) using a torque wrench.
