The following modifications are permanent: enlarging the rearward-most holes in the bottom of the frame using a die grinder, cutting a notch in the bumper fascia (3.375" wide × 3.25" tall), trimming the heat shield, and bending or removing the exhaust bracket locator tabs. Fish wire all (6) 1/2" carriage bolts and spacers through the enlarged hole into position as shown in Figure 1. Raise the hitch into mounting position with the main body on the rearward side. Pull downward on the rear bumper cover approximately +5" to accomplish getting the hitch in position. Remove the fish wires and install the (6) 1/2" hex nuts provided.
