No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing weldnuts on the frame rails. However, you must clean the weldnuts using an M12x1.25 tap and bend the heat shield upward at the center section using pliers.

The black box is mounted on the driver's side using the double-sided tape provided. It should be mounted near the connector in the rear cargo area. The harness must be secured with the cable ties provided to prevent damage, rattling, and to avoid areas that could cut or pinch the wire.
The connector uses a T-connector design with two insertion points. On the driver's side in the rear cargo area, insert the T-One® Connector end with the brown and red wires between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place (step 2). After installation is complete, test and verify the installation with a test light or by connecting a trailer. For the initial test, reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition. All connections must be complete for the T-One® Connector to function properly. Ensure the 15 amp fuse is installed and the negative battery cable is reconnected before testing.
After installation, verify that all plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, and floor covering have been reinstalled carefully without pinching or cutting the wires. Ensure all loose wires are secured and the trailer tow harness is mounted in an accessible location with a bracket or electrical box. Confirm that the 15 amp fuse is installed in the fuse holder and the negative battery cable is reconnected. Test the installation with a test light or trailer before towing.
