ARIES nerf bars are all made vehicle-specific for a custom, no-drill fit, and they are available in multiple finish options. This set of nerf bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel with a polished finish. Our 304 stainless steel is a true stainless with high nickel content, offering better corrosion resistance and a long-lasting finish. The polish is a triple application, resulting in a mirror-like shine to complement your vehicle. ARIES 3" round side bars also come with high-strength steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets -- as well as the side bars and step pads -- are custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the nerf bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. This ensures easy, no-drill installation and the strength necessary to provide solid footing. This particular set of custom nerf bars fits specific years of the Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of polypropylene. These wide, custom-positioned step pads feature a textured pattern and cover a wide portion of the tubes to be more comfortable and high-traction, even in wet conditions.

The kit includes 2 side bars (driver and passenger), 10 frame brackets (5 per side: 2 front, 2 rear, 1 support), 2 mounting brackets (1 per side, front), 2 rear mounting brackets, 6 bolt plates with welded washers (M12 x 40mm), 2 long bolt plates without washers (M12 x 40mm), 2 short bolt plates (M12 x 45mm), 4 hex bolts (M12 x 35mm), 2 hex bolts (M10 x 35mm), 8 hex bolts (M8 and M10 x 25mm), 10 plastic bolt retainers, and assorted flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts in M12, M10, and M8 sizes.

(4) Insert bolt plates into the rear suspension mount and rear frame channel holes. (5) Hang the rear mounting bracket from these bolt plates—snug only. (6) Insert the short bolt plate into the rocker panel hole and hang the rear support bracket from it—snug only. (7) Bolt the support bracket to the rear mounting bracket—snug only. (8) Position the side bar onto the mounting brackets and attach with M10 bolts—do not tighten. (9) Align and adjust the side bar, then fully tighten all hardware.
Plastic bolt retainers hold the bolt plates in place temporarily while you position and hang the brackets. They slide over the bolt threads to prevent the bolt plates from falling out of the factory holes before the brackets are secured.
Do not fully tighten any hardware until the side bar is positioned and aligned. All brackets and bolts should be snugged (hand-tight) during assembly. Only after the side bar is properly aligned and adjusted should you fully tighten all hardware. Before final tightening, ensure that the welded-on washers on the bolt plates are fully seated in the large openings in the floor.
The welded-on washers on the M12 x 40mm bolt plates must be centered in the factory floor holes and remain fully seated in the large openings throughout installation. This prevents damage to the product and vehicle. Before final tightening, verify that all bolt plate washers are centered in their holes.
M12 bolts must be torqued to 28 ft.-lbs.
M10 bolts must be torqued to 16 ft.-lbs.
M8 bolts must be torqued to 7 ft.-lbs.
