ARIES 3" side bars add a custom look and dependable footing to your truck, Jeep or SUV. They feature a classic style, a strong design and non-skid step pads. ARIES nerf bars are all made vehicle-specific for a custom, no-drill fit, and they are available in multiple finish options. This set of nerf bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel with a polished finish. Our 304 stainless steel is a true stainless with high nickel content, offering better corrosion resistance and a long-lasting finish. The polish is a triple application, resulting in a mirror-like shine to complement your vehicle. ARIES 3" round side bars also come with high-strength steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets -- as well as the side bars and step pads -- are custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the nerf bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. This ensures easy, no-drill installation and the strength necessary to provide solid footing. This particular set of custom nerf bars fits specific years of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of polypropylene. These wide, custom-positioned step pads feature a textured pattern and cover a wide portion of the tubes to be more comfortable and high-traction, even in wet conditions.

Three mounting brackets are used per sidebar. The brackets bolt to the 1st, 2nd, and 4th factory running board mounting locations on each side of the vehicle.
The factory running board mounting locations are along the bottom and inner side of the body. There are 4 mounting locations per side, and the brackets bolt to the 1st, 2nd, and 4th locations. Figure 1 in the manual illustrates the passenger side mounting locations.
A clip-on nut (8-1.25mm) is a fastener that clips into the factory mounting holes. To install: remove the rubber plug from the large hole, slide the clip nut into the large hole and over the smaller hole next to it, then line up the threaded nut on the clip nut with the smaller hole in the body panel. Two clip nuts are used per mounting bracket.
Yes. Remove rubber plugs from the factory mounting locations as necessary before installing the clip-on nuts. Figure 2 in the manual shows where these plugs are located.
Yes. All 6 mounting brackets are universal and will fit on either the left (driver) or right (passenger) side of the vehicle.
Each mounting bracket is bolted to 2 clip nuts using: 2 hex bolts (8-1.25mm x 25mm), 2 lock washers (8mm), and 2 flat washers (8mm x 24mm x 2mm). The hardware should be snug but not fully tightened until the sidebar is leveled and adjusted.
The sidebar is attached to the 3 mounting brackets using: 6 hex bolts (8-1.25mm x 25mm), 6 lock washers (8mm), and 6 flat washers (8mm x 24mm x 2mm). Two bolts, washers, and lock washers are used per bracket. Do not tighten the hardware until the sidebar is leveled and adjusted.
Carefully position the sidebar onto the 3 mounting brackets. Do not slide the sidebar front to back or rotate it on the brackets, as this may damage the finish. Once positioned, attach it with the hex bolts, lock washers, and flat washers, but do not tighten the hardware until the sidebar is leveled and adjusted.
Install the passenger/right sidebar first, then repeat the same process for the driver/left sidebar. For each side: locate the 4 factory mounting locations, install 3 mounting brackets using clip nuts and hex bolts, position the sidebar carefully on the brackets, attach it with hex bolts and washers, then level and adjust the sidebar before fully tightening all hardware.
Wax the sidebars after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives, as these may damage the finish. For stainless steel sidebars, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used for cleaning. For gloss black sidebars, use only mild soap for cleaning.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure that all hardware is secure and tight. The manual recommends checking the installation regularly to verify that bolts and fasteners have not loosened.
