ARIES nerf bars are all made vehicle-specific for a custom, no-drill fit, and they are available in multiple finish options. This set of nerf bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel with a polished finish. Our 304 stainless steel is a true stainless with high nickel content, offering better corrosion resistance and a long-lasting finish. The polish is a triple application, resulting in a mirror-like shine to complement your vehicle. ARIES 3" round side bars also come with high-strength steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets -- as well as the side bars and step pads -- are custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the nerf bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. This ensures easy, no-drill installation and the strength necessary to provide solid footing. This particular set of custom nerf bars fits specific years of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of polypropylene. These wide, custom-positioned step pads feature a textured pattern and cover a wide portion of the tubes to be more comfortable and high-traction, even in wet conditions.

The vehicle must have 4 factory running board mounting locations along the bottom and inner side of the body on each side. The mounting brackets bolt to the 1st, 2nd, and 4th of these locations (the 3rd location is not used).
A ratchet, socket set, and level are required. Proper tools will improve the quality of installation and reduce installation time.

Carefully position the sidebar onto the mounting brackets. Do not slide the sidebar front to back or rotate it on the brackets, as this may damage the finish on the sidebar.
No. After attaching the sidebar to the mounting brackets with the hex bolts, lock washers, and flat washers, do not tighten the hardware yet. First level and adjust the sidebar, then tighten all hardware.
Install the passenger/right side first, then repeat the same process for the driver/left side. For each side: locate the 4 factory mounting locations, remove rubber plugs as necessary, install clip nuts, bolt mounting brackets to the clip nuts (snug but do not fully tighten), position the sidebar on the brackets, attach the sidebar with hex bolts and washers (do not tighten), level and adjust the sidebar, then fully tighten all hardware.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft-lbs. This applies unless otherwise noted in the instructions.
3 mounting brackets are used per side. Each sidebar is attached to 3 mounting brackets using 6 hex bolts (2 bolts per bracket).
Clip nuts (M8) are fasteners that slide into the large factory mounting hole and align with the smaller hole in the body panel. The threaded nut on the clip nut lines up with the smaller hole, allowing the mounting bracket to be bolted in place. One clip nut is used per mounting bracket location.
Wax the product after installing and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives, dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, or wire brushes, as these may damage the finish. For stainless steel, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs. For gloss black finishes, mild soap may be used to clean. Mild automotive detergent may be used for general cleaning.
