ARIES 4" oval side bars are sleek, strong and custom-fitted to be a highly functional extension of your truck. ARIES 4" oval side bars are made with strong 4" elliptical tubing and are available in two different finish options to allow for full customization: polished stainless steel and black powder coat carbon steel. This set of side bars is constructed from high-strength carbon steel for a solid step, and they feature a dual-layer E-coat and semi-gloss black powder coat finish for excellent protection against scratching, chipping and peeling. Something that sets the ARIES 4" oval side bar apart from all others is its blended end caps and OE-style bends. Rather than capping our side bars with a plastic cap, we offer a blended end cap for a smooth, finished appearance. We also equip the ends with a special 20-degree bend and original equipment styling to perfectly contour to your vehicle. ARIES 4" oval side bars are fitted with raised step pads to provide a wide stepping surface. The polypropylene construction will not crack over time, and because it has a textured grip, the surface is highly resistant to slips and skids, even when wet. Installation of ARIES 4" oval side bars is quick and easy with custom-fitted mounting brackets and no drilling necessary. These nerf bars fit select model years of the Ram 1500, 1500 Classic, 2500 or 3500 and Dodge Ram 1500, Ram 2500 or Ram 3500 (see application info to verify fitment).

The kit includes: 1 driver-side bar, 1 passenger-side bar, 2 front mounting brackets, 2 middle mounting brackets, 2 rear mounting brackets, 12 M8 hex bolts with flat and lock washers, 18 M10 hex bolts with flat and lock washers, 6 M12 bolts with nut plates, flat washers, lock washers, hex nuts and plastic retainers, and 2 spacer plates.
You will need: a torque wrench, 13mm socket, 16mm socket, 18mm socket, a utility knife, and a level.
Wax the product after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer over the finish. For gloss black finishes, mild soap may be used to clean the product. Yes, if your 2009-2015 vehicle does not have a support bracket at the front mounting location, you must use the provided spacer plates between the front mounting brackets and the rocker panel. The manual indicates this bracket may not be present on vehicles from this model year range.
The front mounting bracket is secured with: one M12 bolt with a plastic retainer, lock washer, flat washer and hex nut at the top; and two M8 hex bolts with lock washers and flat washers at the bottom. If your vehicle is not equipped with M8 threaded inserts, use M10 hex bolts, lock washers and flat washers instead, aligned with the M10 nut on the M12 bolt plate.

1. Start on the driver side and locate the three mounting locations underneath the vehicle. 2. Install the front mounting bracket first, then the middle bracket, then the rear bracket. 3. Place the driver-side bar onto the mounting brackets and secure it. 4. Adjust and level the side bar. 5. Tighten all brackets to the vehicle first, followed by the side bar connections. 6. Repeat the entire process on the passenger side.
Snug the hardware during the initial installation steps, but do not fully tighten. After the side bar is in position and adjusted to level, tighten all brackets to the vehicle first, followed by the side bar connections.
Place the side bar onto the mounting brackets and align the mounting points. Ensure the rivet nuts on the bottom of the side bar line up with the brackets. Then adjust and level the side bar using a level before final tightening.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft.-lbs.
M10 bolts should be torqued to 16 ft.-lbs.
M12 bolts should be torqued to 28 ft.-lbs.
