ARIES 4" oval side bars are sleek, strong and custom-fitted to be a highly functional extension of your truck. ARIES 4" oval side bars are made with strong 4" elliptical tubing and are available in two different finish options to allow you full customization: polished stainless steel and black powder coat carbon steel. This set of side bars is constructed from high-strength carbon steel for a solid step, and they feature a dual-layer E-coat and semi-gloss black powder coat finish for excellent protection against scratching, chipping and peeling. Something that sets the ARIES 4" oval side bar apart from all others is its blended end caps and OE-style bends. Rather than capping our side bars with a plastic cap, we offer a blended end cap for a smooth, finished appearance. We also equip the ends with a special 20-degree bend and original equipment styling to perfectly contour to your vehicle. ARIES 4" oval side bars are fitted with raised step pads to provide a wide stepping surface. The polypropylene construction will not crack over time, and because it has a textured grip, the surface is highly resistant to slips and skids, even when wet. To add an extra element of class to our oval sides, we also fit each one with a stainless steel insignia bearing the ARIES name. Installation of ARIES 4" oval side bars is quick and easy with custom-fitted mounting brackets and no drilling necessary. These nerf bars fit select model years of the Dodge Ram 1500, Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 (see application info to verify fitment).

Yes. At the front, you must remove the factory body bolt and washer (not reused). At the rear, you must remove the factory body bolt, isolator and washer. The isolator is reused at the rear mounting bracket. The front factory hardware is discarded.
The manual assumes factory oval holes exist in the inner body panels at the front and rear of the vehicle. These holes are covered with tape and must be uncovered during installation. If your vehicle does not have these holes, contact Aries Automotive at 877.287.8634 to confirm compatibility.
Installation follows this sequence: (1) Start at the passenger/right side front; uncover and install the bolt plate with plastic retainer into the factory oval hole. (2) Install the front brace bracket onto the bolt plate. (3) Remove the factory front body bolt and install the front mounting bracket. (4) Connect the front brace bracket to the front mounting bracket. (5) Repeat at the passenger/right side rear with the rear brace bracket and rear mounting bracket. (6) Attach the passenger sidebar to both mounting brackets. (7) Repeat all steps for the driver/left side. (8) Level and align the sidebar, then tighten all hardware.
Do not tighten hardware as you install it. Snug all fasteners but leave them loose until step 13, after you have leveled and aligned the sidebar properly. Then tighten all hardware at once. This allows for proper alignment before final tightening.
Thread a plastic retainer onto the threaded end of a bolt plate. Insert the bolt plate into the factory oval hole. Hold the bolt end with one hand and tighten the plastic retainer with your other hand. Tighten the plastic retainer until it reaches the side panel. Do not over-tighten.
The brace bracket is secured to the bolt plate with (1) M10 × 30mm OD flat washer, (1) M10 lock washer, and (1) M10 hex nut. This applies to both front and rear brace brackets on both sides of the vehicle.
The mounting bracket is secured with (1) M12 × 120mm hex bolt, (1) M12 × 44mm OD flat washer, and (1) M12 lock washer. This applies to both front and rear mounting brackets on both sides of the vehicle.
Secure the brace bracket to the mounting bracket with (1) M10 × 30mm hex bolt, (2) M10 × 30mm OD flat washers, (1) M10 lock washer, and (1) M10 hex nut. This applies to both front and rear connections on both sides of the vehicle.
The sidebar bar is fastened to each mounting bracket (front and rear) with (2) M10 × 30mm hex bolts, (2) M10 lock washers, and (2) M10 × 24mm OD flat washers per bracket. Do not tighten until the sidebar is leveled and aligned.
The rear isolator is reused. When removing the factory rear body bolt, isolator and washer, keep the isolator and reinstall it with the new rear mounting bracket using the M12 × 120mm hex bolt, M12 × 44mm OD flat washer, and M12 lock washer.
M10 bolts must be torqued to 16 ft.-lbs. This applies to all M10 hex bolts and fasteners used throughout the installation.
M12 bolts must be torqued to 28 ft.-lbs. This applies to all M12 × 120mm hex bolts used to secure the mounting brackets.
After installation, wax the product to protect it. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives, as these can damage the finish. For stainless steel, aluminum polish may be used on small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used to clean. For gloss black finishes, use only mild soap to clean.
