ARIES 4" oval side bars are sleek, strong and custom-fitted to be a highly functional extension of your truck. ARIES 4" oval side bars are made with strong 4" elliptical tubing and are available in two different finish options to allow for full customization: polished stainless steel and black powder coat carbon steel. This set of side bars is constructed from high-strength carbon steel for a solid step, and they feature a dual-layer E-coat and semi-gloss black powder coat finish for excellent protection against scratching, chipping and peeling. Something that sets the ARIES 4" oval side bar apart from all others is its blended end caps and OE-style bends. Rather than capping our side bars with a plastic cap, we offer a blended end cap for a smooth, finished appearance. We also equip the ends with a special 20-degree bend and original equipment styling to perfectly contour to your vehicle. ARIES 4" oval side bars are fitted with raised step pads to provide a wide stepping surface. The polypropylene construction will not crack over time, and because it has a textured grip, the surface is highly resistant to slips and skids, even when wet. Installation of ARIES 4" oval side bars is quick and easy with custom-fitted mounting brackets and no drilling necessary. These nerf bars fit select model years of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD crew cab (see application info to verify fitment).

Yes. The S224053 requires six pre-threaded mounting locations along the rocker panel of the vehicle. The installation uses the first, third, fourth and sixth mounting points from the front. Some models may have only five mounting points; if the sixth point is not present, use the fifth mounting point instead.
Required tools are: torque wrench, ratchet, 13 mm socket, 16 mm socket, 16 mm wrench, and flathead screwdriver.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft-lbs.
M10 bolts should be torqued to 16 ft-lbs.
1. Locate the six pre-threaded mounting locations on the rocker panel (driver side first). Use the first, third, fourth and sixth mounting points from the front (or fifth if sixth is absent). 2. Loosely secure each bracket to the vehicle using two M8 hex bolts, flat washers and lock washers. 3. Place the side bar onto the brackets and align the holes. 4. Secure the side bar to the brackets using two M10 hex bolts, flat washers and lock washers for each bracket. 5. Level the side bar and tighten all hardware to torque specifications. 6. Repeat on the passenger side.
Brackets should be loosely secured to the vehicle first using M8 bolts. The side bar is then placed onto the brackets and secured with M10 bolts. All hardware is levelled and tightened to torque specifications only after the side bar is in position.
Clean with mild automotive detergent only. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or similar products. Wax after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Do not use polish or wax containing abrasives. Perform periodic inspections to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
