ARIES 4" oval side bars are sleek, strong and custom-fitted to be a highly functional extension of your truck. ARIES 4" oval side bars are made with strong 4" elliptical tubing and are available in two different finish options to allow you full customization. This set of side bars is constructed from high-strength carbon steel for a solid step, and they feature a dual-layer E-coat and semi-gloss black powder coat finish for excellent protection against scratching, chipping and peeling. Something that sets the ARIES 4" oval side bar apart from all others is its blended end c aps and OE-style bends. Rather than capping our side bars with a plastic cap, we offer a blended end cap for a smooth, finished appearance. We also equip the ends with a special 20-degree bend and original equipment styling to perfectly contour to your vehicle. ARIES 4" oval side bars are fitted with raised step pads to provide a wide stepping surface. The polypropylene construction will not crack over time, and because it has a textured grip, the surface is highly resistant to slips and skids, even when wet. To add an extra element of class to our oval sides, we also fit each one with a stainless steel insignia bearing the ARIES name. Installation of ARIES 4" oval side bars is quick and easy with custom-fitted mounting brackets and no drilling necessary (NOTE: This set of side bars is compatible with DEF tank models). These nerf bars fit select model years of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 2500 HD Classic, 3500 HD and 3500 Classic (see application info to verify fitment).

Place the upper mounting bracket against the rocker panel and align its weld nut with the mounting hole. Secure it with an M8 hex bolt, M8 lock washer, and M8 flat washer. Align a lower mounting bracket with the upper bracket and secure them together with an M10 hex bolt, M10 lock washer, and M10 flat washer, torqued to 31.6 ft-lbs. Repeat for the second passenger front bracket. Snug but do not fully tighten until Step 11.
Standard torque specifications are: M6 bolt = 3 ft-lbs, M8 bolt = 7 ft-lbs, M10 bolt = 16 ft-lbs, M12 bolt = 28 ft-lbs. These apply unless otherwise noted in the installation steps. The passenger front M10 bolts are an exception, torqued to 31.6 ft-lbs.
After installation, perform periodic inspections to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Wax the product to protect the finish, and clean only with mild automotive detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners, polishes with abrasives, dish detergent, abrasive pads, or wire brushes.
