Blue Ox is known internationally for recreational and commercial towing products, manufacturing in Pender, Nebraska since 1925. The bumper does not need to be fully removed, but it must be loosened. Four bolts are removed from the front of the bumper on both sides using a 15MM socket, and the bumper is allowed to hang. The baseplate is then slid between the bumper and the frame.

Eight existing 10MM x 1.5 x 40MM bolts and eight existing 10MM flat washers from the vehicle are reused to mount the baseplate to the frame. One bolt is installed on each side to hold the baseplate in place initially, then the remaining three bolts on each side are installed.
