Blue Ox is known internationally for recreational and commercial towing products, manufacturing in Pender, Nebraska since 1925. The line covers tow bars and vehicle-specific baseplates for flat towing behind a motorhome, sway control and weight distributing hitches, supplemental braking accessories and towing wiring, backed by patented designs and long-standing customer service.
Blue Ox has manufactured since 1925 and is recognised internationally for towing products and customer service. The company operates from Pender, Nebraska, where it grew out of Automatic Manufacturing Co., a business that started with cattle oilers and developed into agricultural equipment, tractor accessories and trailer towing hardware. That agricultural engineering heritage still shows in how the towing products are built, and the company holds patents across weight distribution, fifth wheel and tow bar designs.
Flat towing is the discipline Blue Ox is best known for. Towing a car with all four wheels on the ground behind a motorhome demands a system that stays rigid under braking, articulates properly over uneven ground, and connects to the towed vehicle at points strong enough to take the load. Blue Ox tow bars handle the first two, with self-aligning arms that latch under tension and release without a struggle when the load is off them. Vehicle-specific baseplates handle the third, engineered per make and model to tie into structural mounting points behind the fascia.
The wider flat towing range covers supplemental braking systems, safety cables and the accessories that make a complete legal setup, along with baseplate wiring and dinghy towing harnesses that pass lighting signals to the towed vehicle without back-feeding its electrical system.
For conventional trailer towing, Blue Ox weight distributing hitches with integrated sway control transfer tongue load onto the tow vehicle's front axle and resist the yaw that crosswinds and passing trucks induce.

No. Due to the design of the removable tabs on the BX3325, the RangeFinder II tow bar cannot be used with this baseplate.
Most adapters cannot be used with the BX3325 baseplate. Only the BX8833 and BX88151 adapters are compatible. Do not substitute other devices.
The attachment tab height is 13 inches and the width is 24 inches.
Required tools are: 7MM socket, 10MM socket, 9/16" socket, 13/32" drill bit, utility knife, reciprocating saw, and Loctite RED. When using power drills be aware of the dangers of torque and drill bit length.

The front fascia and horn bracket are removed and reinstalled during installation. The bumper bracket webbing is also removed. Four metric bolts from the top of the fascia, one metric bolt from the wheel well cover, pushpins, the styrofoam bumper, four bolts from the metal bumper, and one bolt from the air baffle are removed and set aside for reinstallation.
Yes. Drilling is required. Using a 13/32" drill bit, you must drill three top holes on both sides of the vehicle and one hole just below the metal bumper on both sides. The baseplate is used as a template for drilling.
Yes. Trimming is required. Using a utility knife, remove the upper portion of the air dam with the tab on both sides. Additionally, cut 3/4" deep into the back edge of the fascia on both sides to open the area for baseplate installation. Trim the lower lip of the fascia's rib; it is not necessary to completely cut out the horizontal rib. Some models may not need trimming of the back fascia.
Yes. Using a reciprocating saw, measure and mark 2 3/4" up from the bottom edge of the bumper bracket webbing and approximately 2" in to the frame edge on the back side of the webbing, then remove this portion on both sides of the vehicle.
According to the torque chart on the front page of the installation instructions, 3/8" Grade 5 bolts should be torqued to 33 foot-pounds. Loctite RED must be applied to all bolts before tightening. The manual references a torque chart on page 3 of the Baseplate Towing General Instructions for additional specifications.

1. Remove four metric bolts from the top of the fascia using a 7MM socket. 2. Remove one metric bolt from the wheel well cover and two pushpins on both sides. 3. Remove four pushpins from the bottom edge of the fascia and pull the fascia forward. 4. Remove one pushpin from the styrofoam bumper. 5. Using a utility knife, remove the upper portion of the air dam with the tab on both sides. 6. Remove four metric bolts from the metal bumper using a 10MM socket on both sides, then use a reciprocating saw to remove the bumper bracket webbing (2 3/4" up from bottom, 2" in to frame edge). 7. Remove one metric bolt from the air baffle on the passenger's side. 8. Remove one metric bolt from the horn bracket on the driver's side and unplug electrical connections. 9. Slide the baseplate onto the frame as far forward as possible, align the lower hole with the air baffle hole, clamp both sides to the lower frame webbing, drill three top holes using a 13/32" drill bit on both sides, insert 3/8" nutplates, and tighten 3/8" hex bolts with lock washers. 10. Drill the hole just below the metal bumper using a 13/32" drill bit on both sides, insert 3/8" hex bolts, and tighten 3/8" hex nuts with lock washers on the back side. 11. Reinstall the horn bracket and metal bumper. 12. Cut 3/4" deep into the back edge of the fascia on both sides, reinstall the fascia, and trim the lower lip of the fascia's rib. Ensure all electrical connections are plugged in properly before installing the fascia.
Slide the baseplate onto the frame end as far forward as possible. Align the larger lower hole in the baseplate end plate with the existing hole for the air baffle on the passenger's side and tighten the existing metric bolt to hold the baseplate in place. Clamp both sides of the lower baseplate to the lower frame webbing with a vise grip. Use the baseplate as a template to drill the three top holes with a 13/32" drill bit on both sides. Insert the 3/8" nutplates into the square opening on the bottom of the frame rail to align with the drilled holes, then tighten the 3/8" hex bolts and lock washers on both sides.
Using the baseplate as a template, drill the hole just below the metal bumper with a 13/32" drill bit on both sides of the vehicle. Insert the 3/8" hex bolt into the drilled hole and tighten the 3/8" hex nut and lock washer on the back side of the bumper bracket webbing on both sides. Apply Loctite RED to all bolts before tightening and torque to 33 foot-pounds for 3/8" Grade 5 bolts.
Remove the fascia by pulling the upper corners out to the side and straight forward. Set it aside carefully. After the baseplate is secured, reinstall the fascia as close to the original position as possible. Using a utility knife, cut 3/4" deep into the back edge of the fascia to open the area for baseplate installation on both sides. Trim the lower lip of the fascia's rib; it is not necessary to completely cut out the horizontal rib. Some models may not need trimming of the back fascia. Ensure all electrical connections are plugged in to their proper locations for the horn (some models may have fog lights) before installing the fascia.
Reinstall the horn bracket on the driver's side after the baseplate is secured. Plug in the electrical connections before installing the fascia. Ensure all electrical connections are functioning properly before completing the installation.
All electrical connections must be plugged in properly and functioning before installing the fascia. This includes the horn bracket electrical connections and, on some models, fog light connections. Verify that all connections are in their proper locations.
Permanent baseplate safety cables are strongly recommended when towing a vehicle with a tow bar. The cables must be connected from the baseplate to the frame rail or cross member of the vehicle's frame. Do not mount the permanent baseplate safety cables against wires, hoses or brake lines. These cables should remain installed as long as the baseplate is installed and are to be used in conjunction with, not as a replacement for, legally required safety cables attaching the towed vehicle to the towing vehicle.
If the baseplate is in an accident, it must be replaced. Do not use it again. An accident can cause unseen damage and using it again could result in more damage or serious injury. Do not use the baseplate if it is damaged or missing parts.
Confirm the towability and pre-towing procedures for your vehicle with the owner's manual or contact the vehicle's manufacturer for specific towing procedures. It is the owner's responsibility to hook up all towing equipment per manufacturer's instructions and recommendations.
