The installation sequence is: (1) remove fascia and air bag sensors; (2) remove styrofoam from metal bumper; (3) measure and mark the tie down bracket at 10½" down from the bottom side of upper frame webbing; (4) cut front webbing of tie down bracket with reciprocating saw; (5) trim air dam; (6) slide baseplate onto tie down bracket and align with existing air bag sensor holes; (7) tighten baseplate using existing sensor bolts with 10MM socket, ensuring baseplate is level; (8) insert spacer plates between tie down bracket and baseplate; (9) drill holes using baseplate as template with 13/32" drill bit; (10) insert nut plate into frame opening and tighten with 3/8" hex bolt and lock washer; (11) insert 3/8" hex bolts into baseplate holes and tighten with lock washers and hex nuts; (12) remove and reinstall air bag sensors with 6MM hex bolts; (13) reinstall fascia; (14) trim lower grill around receivers and convenience links; (15) install tow bar and safety cables per their instructions.

Using the existing metric bolts for the sensors, tighten the metric bolts with the 10MM socket on both sides. It is the installer's responsibility to watch for: oil cooler and air conditioner lines, electrical wires and hoses, and missing parts or attaching points on the frame. If the baseplate is improperly installed and comes into contact with a wire or hose, it could cause fluid leaks or electrical shorts some time after installation. Do not mount permanent baseplate safety cables against wires, hoses, or brake lines.
After installation, ensure the baseplate is level with the vehicle. Before each towing trip, inspect all towing equipment for cracked welds, missing or worn parts, and loose bolts. Verify that all bolts are tightened to the recommended specifications and that Loctite Red has been applied to all bolts.
