The advantage of a hitch-mounted cargo carrier is that it can be mounted on the rear or front end of a vehicle as long as the vehicle is properly equipped with the right receiver hitch. Mounting a cargo carrier in the front opens up the rear receiver hitch for towing a trailer or adding a second carrier or bike rack if needed. The hitch-mounted design also makes installation quick and easy. This CURT mesh, bolt-together, tray-style cargo carrier features heavy-duty steel construction and a durable black carbide powder coat finish to resist rust and corrosion from outdoor exposure. It comes with a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" shank and an attachment to adapt to a 2" x 2" receiver tube. It can hold up to 300 lbs. of cargo and also features a bent shank to raise the carrier off the ground and provide more clearance. It offers a total storage area of 48" x 20". CURT tray-style cargo carriers are versatile and simple to use. The CURT 18110 is designed for vehicles with a 2" receiver tube. It includes a 1-1/4" shank that can be adapted to 2" with the included shank adapter (#4). Verify your vehicle has a 2" receiver tube before purchasing.
The maximum weight capacity is 300 lbs. when using the 2" receiver tube. Never exceed this limit or your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, whichever is lower.
You will need a wrench set and an adjustable wrench. The installation is rated as Easy difficulty.
No. The CURT 18110 uses your vehicle's existing 2" receiver tube. No drilling, cutting, welding or vehicle modifications are required.
All M10 bolts must be torqued to 16 ft-lbs. Hand tighten all bolts first during assembly, then fully tighten to the specified torque.
No. Never use the carrier as a step or platform—injury may result. It is designed only for carrying cargo.
The CURT 18110 includes: 2 platform frame halves, 1 shank (1-1/4"), 2 connecting plates, 1 shank adapter (2"), 1 clip, 1 hex bolt (1/2"), 1 spring washer (1/2"), 1 flat washer (1/2"), 14 lock nuts (M10), 12 carriage bolts (M10 x 20mm), 2 carriage bolts (M10 x 75mm), 1 flat brace, 2 support bridges, and 2 round tube pads.
The CURT 18110 comes with a 1-1/4" shank. To use it with a 2" receiver tube, you must use the included 2" shank adapter (#4). The adapter aligns with the shank holes and is secured with the 1/2" hex bolt, spring washer, flat washer and clip.
1. Align the two platform halves and connect them using the top two holes with M10 x 20mm carriage bolts and M10 lock nuts—hand tighten only. 2. Place the 1-1/4" shank under the platform middle with round tube pads and support bridges underneath. Attach the flat brace to the top middle of the platform using M10 x 75mm carriage bolts and lock nuts—hand tighten. Secure the support bridges with four M10 x 20mm carriage bolts and lock nuts—hand tighten. 3. Using the bottom two holes, finish connecting the platform halves and connecting plates with M10 x 20mm carriage bolts and lock nuts—hand tighten. 4. Fully tighten all bolts and lock nuts to 16 ft-lbs. 5. Insert the shank into the vehicle's receiver tube and secure with the 1/2" hex bolt, spring washer, flat washer and clip.
Hand tighten all bolts and lock nuts during the initial assembly steps (Steps 1–3). After all bolts are installed and hand tightened, fully tighten all of them to the specified torque of 16 ft-lbs. for M10 bolts.
Insert the cargo carrier shank into the vehicle's receiver tube. Secure it with the 1/2" hex bolt (#6), spring washer (#7), flat washer (#8) and clip (#5). If adapting a 1-1/4" shank to a 2" receiver, place the 2" adapter (#4) onto the shank, align the holes and secure with the same hardware.
Two sizes of M10 carriage bolts are used: 12 bolts are M10 x 20mm (used to connect platform halves, connecting plates and support bridges), and 2 bolts are M10 x 75mm (used to attach the flat brace and shank assembly). All are torqued to 16 ft-lbs.
Distribute the weight evenly on the platform when hauling a load. Do not exceed the 300 lbs. maximum weight capacity. Uneven weight distribution can affect vehicle handling and safety.
No. Do not carry flammable items on the carrier or allow exhaust fumes to blow directly on your cargo. This is a fire hazard. Do not carry loads taller, wider or deeper than the cargo carrier itself.
No. The CURT 18110 is designed only for cargo. Do not use it to transport people.

Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity or the 300 lbs. weight capacity of the carrier, whichever is lower. Do not exceed the capacity of your lowest rated towing component.
