Outfitting your pickup to tow a heavy-duty flatbed or livestock trailer is easy with the CURT OEM puck system gooseneck ball and safety chain anchor kit. The components of this 30K kit quickly and easily drop into the truck bed pucks, instantly equipping the truck for gooseneck towing. The kit includes a gooseneck ball, safety chain anchors, a rubber hole cover and a durable storage case. It is designed specifically for the Ram puck system and cannot be installed without it. It is rated for 30,000 lbs. GTW and 7,500 lbs. vertical load. The OEM puck system gooseneck ball perfectly fits into the center ball hole and provides a 2-5/16" ball to fit most standard gooseneck trailers. It features with a patented installation system, operating with a simple quarter-turn latch lock for ease of use and a secure mount. Retention balls, built into the shank, keep the gooseneck ball fixed into the receiver hole and keep your trailer locked on tight. Also included in the kit are CURT OEM puck system gooseneck safety chain anchors. Like the gooseneck ball, these patented anchors are made specifically for Ram pickup trucks with the puck system and provide a reliable connection for your gooseneck trailer. They feature a simple drop-in installation system with no tools required, and they offer large safety chain loops to accept heavy-duty clevis hooks. These safety chain anchors are constructed from heavy-duty, cast steel and have a highly durable powder coat finish. Finally, the Ram puck system gooseneck kit includes a tough rubber hole cover to keep water, dirt, grime and rust out of the gooseneck ball hole. The cover installs with a friction fit and helps extend the life of your Ram gooseneck hitch. We also include a durable plastic storage case with each kit to keep the components protected and together for easy storage. The case can be stored inside your truck or truck bed tool box to keep the ball and anchors on-hand whenever you need them.

Yes, the CURT 60618 fits 2013-2026 Ram 2500 models, so your 2026 is covered. Just make sure your truck has the factory puck system installed, as this kit requires it for installation. The kit includes everything you need: the 2-5/16" gooseneck ball (#60601), two safety chain anchors (#60617), storage case, and rubber hole cover.
Absolutely! The CURT 60618 is designed specifically for 2013-2026 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks with the factory puck system. Your 2020 Ram 2500 falls right in that range, and you'll get the full 30,000 lbs GTW and 7,500 lbs vertical load capacity.
This kit fits 2013-2026 Ram 2500 and 2013-2026 Ram 3500 trucks that come equipped with the factory puck system. The key requirement is having Ram's OEM puck system already installed in your truck bed. It's tested to meet U.S. VESC V-19 safety specifications and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
Installation is incredibly simple with this CURT 60618 kit - it's designed for tool-free, drop-in installation into your Ram's existing puck system. The gooseneck ball uses a patented quarter-turn latch system with retention balls that keep everything securely locked in place. You'll have your truck ready to tow in minutes, not hours.
The CURT 60618 kit is designed for RAM trucks with a factory-installed gooseneck receiver tube in the truck bed and rear-most under-bed mounts on both sides. The manual does not specify which RAM models or years are compatible. Contact CURT at 1.877.287.8634 or visit CURTMFG.COM to confirm fitment for your specific truck.
The kit includes: 2 safety chain anchors (60617), 2 × 12mm pins, 2 × 5mm lynch pins, 1 gooseneck ball (60601), 1 rubber cover (66155), and 1 storage case.
The manual does not list any required tools for installation. The installation process involves rotating the handle, inserting pins, and engaging lynch pins by hand. No drilling, welding, or power tools are mentioned.
1. Lift the handle from its seat and rotate it 90°. 2. Insert the gooseneck ball into the receiver tube in the truck bed. 3. Rotate the handle to the locked position and flip it down into its seat. If the handle does not rotate freely into the locked position, rotate the ball while applying light pressure to the side of the handle. The handle must match the ball profile while in the locked position prior to coupling.
1. Align the safety chain anchor with the rear-most under-bed mount on both sides of the truck. Always install both safety chain anchors in the rear-most under-bed mounts. 2. Lower the safety chain anchor into the under-bed mount and rotate it 90° toward the center of the truck. 3. Insert the 12mm pin into the top of the safety chain anchor and lock it into position using the 5mm lynch pin. Both pins must be fully inserted and engaged.
The manual specifies that both safety chain anchors must always be installed in the rear-most under-bed mounts. This positioning is shown in Figure 5 and is critical for proper safety chain anchor function, but the manual does not explain the engineering reason.
After lowering the safety chain anchor into the under-bed mount, rotate it 90° toward the center of the truck. Both rings should face the center of the truck when properly installed.
The 12mm pin is inserted into the top of the safety chain anchor to secure it in position. The 5mm lynch pin then locks the 12mm pin in place. Both pins must be fully inserted and engaged to ensure the anchor is properly secured.
When the gooseneck ball is not in use and has been removed from the receiver tube, place the rubber cover (66155) in the gooseneck receiver to keep dirt and contaminates out.
When not in use, remove both the gooseneck ball (60601) and the safety chain anchors (60617) from the truck and store them in the provided case in a dry, clean area. Place the rubber cover (66155) in the gooseneck receiver when the ball is removed.
Keep the 60601 gooseneck ball, receiver, trailer coupler, and 60617 safety chain anchor pins lubricated using silicone spray or equivalent to prevent wear and rust. Keep all components free of dirt and other foreign debris. Failure to maintain the towing system could result in poor performance and/or catastrophic failure.
Before towing for the first time: verify adequate turning clearance between the truck cab/box corners and trailer(s); check that there is a minimum clearance of 6" between the bottom of the trailer overhang and the top of the box sides; verify all anchors are properly installed and secured with lynch pins; verify the trailer safety chain length (leave only enough slack to allow full turning without interference); verify trailer attachments to the safety chain anchors are secure; ensure safety chains and hooks are rated to the load capacity of the trailer; ensure all fasteners are tight and structural components are sound; attach trailer chains securely to 60617 safety chain anchors; ensure the trailer weight does not exceed any part of the towing system and that load is heavier towards the front of the trailer; check tire inflation; and verify trailer lights, electric brakes and breakaway switches are working properly.
Before towing every time: verify all anchors are properly installed and secured with lynch pins; verify the trailer safety chain length (leave only enough slack to allow full turning without interference); verify trailer attachments to the safety chain anchors are secure (cannot be shaken free during towing); ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound; and do not tow the trailer with worn or damaged parts.
The manual does not specify the towing capacity of the 60601 gooseneck ball. You must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. Contact CURT at 1.877.287.8634 or visit CURTMFG.COM for the specific capacity rating.
No. Do not tow more than one trailer at a time. This may cause loss of control.
Severe bumps can damage your towing system. Avoid or drive slowly over rough terrain.
Vehicle performance, such as braking, handling, acceleration and turning radius, can be drastically affected by the trailer. Allow additional time and space for stopping, changing lanes, passing and turning.
There should be a minimum clearance of 6" between the bottom of the trailer overhang and the top of the box sides.
Ensure the trailer weight does not exceed any part of the towing system. Be sure the load is heavier towards the front of the trailer while not exceeding the hitch vertical weight rating. Be sure the trailer load is secured to prevent shifting and centered from left to right. Never load the trailer heavier behind the trailer axle(s).
Verify the trailer safety chain length. Too much slack in the chain may prevent maintaining control in the event of separation. Leave only enough slack to allow full turning without interference. Ensure the safety chains and hooks are rated to the load capacity of the trailer. Verify trailer attachments to the safety chain anchors are secure and cannot be shaken free during towing.
Periodically check all gooseneck components to ensure that fasteners are tight and that structural components are sound. The manual does not specify an exact interval, but recommends checking before every towing trip and performing a thorough inspection before towing for the first time.
The kit fits RAM trucks with a factory-installed gooseneck receiver tube in the truck bed and rear-most under-bed mounts on both sides. Contact CURT at 1.877.287.8634 to confirm fitment for your specific model.
No special tools are required. Installation involves rotating the handle, inserting pins, and engaging lynch pins by hand.
No. The safety chain anchors install into the existing rear-most under-bed mounts using 12mm pins and 5mm lynch pins. No drilling is required.
Yes. The gooseneck ball (60601) installs directly into the factory receiver tube in the truck bed by rotating the handle 90°, inserting the ball, and rotating the handle back to the locked position.
There must be a minimum clearance of 6" between the bottom of the trailer overhang and the top of the box sides.
No. Do not tow more than one trailer at a time, as this may cause loss of control.
Keep all components lubricated with silicone spray or equivalent to prevent wear and rust. Keep them free of dirt and debris. Store in the provided case when not in use.
Rotate the ball while applying light pressure to the side of the handle. This should allow the handle to rotate freely into the locked position. Once it does, flip the handle down into its seated position.
