It features an OE style design to fully integrate with the front of the vehicle and maintain a factory look. This Buick Envision tow bar baseplate is constructed from high-quality steel and is precisely welded for a perfect fit. It is physically tested for absolute safety and peace of mind while dinghy towing. It also features a unique co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and highly durable powder coat to protect against the outdoor elements. Yes. The installation requires the front fascia panel to be temporarily removed and reinstalled. This involves removing nine push pins from the top fascia cover, six bolts along the top edge (three on each side using a T15 Torx bit), four bolts along the wheel well liner (T15 Torx bit), one bolt in the bumper fascia joint (7mm socket), ten bolts in the underbody fascia panel (7mm socket, five on each side), and unplugging the wiring harness on the passenger side.
The plastic air intake housing around the radiator is removed via eight push pins (four on top, two on bottom, two on each side) and will not be reinstalled. The lower grille is removed using a T25 Torx bit (four bolts) and will not be reinstalled. Plastic brackets on each side of the bumper are removed by pulling out push pins and will not be reinstalled.
Yes. The installation requires drilling 3/8" holes into the vehicle frame using the side plate holes as a guide. Drilling is performed in two stages: first using the bottom holes in the side plate, then drilling the remaining holes after the spacer plate is positioned. A 3/8" drill bit is required.
Trimming and cutting include: (1) marking and cutting off the lower air intake mounting brackets on both sides using a metal-cutting tool (reciprocating saw or cutoff wheel) flush with the bottom edge of the bumper; (2) trimming plastic shielding in front of the radiator on the sides using tin snips (required if vehicle has an intercooler); (3) trimming upper center mounting tabs for the plastic air intake of the intercooler using a metal-cutting tool if equipped; (4) trimming the lower tabs on the back side of the front fascia; (5) trimming the front fascia to make space for safety cable loops and attachment tabs. A caution warns that injury may occur if cutting is done improperly.
All 3/8"-16 hex bolts, conical washers, and Nylock nuts (items #5, #6, #7) must be torqued to 37 lb-ft. This applies to both the bottom holes in the side plates and the remaining holes after the spacer plate is installed. Torque all hardware on both sides of the vehicle.

Yes. Two permanent safety cables must be installed at all times when dinghy towing. Each cable must meet or exceed the gross weight of the towed vehicle. The cables included are rated 7,500 lbs each. Cables must be connected to the base plate and vehicle frame, and must not pinch or interfere with hoses, wiring, or other components. Safety cables are not a replacement for safety chains connecting the tow vehicle to the towed vehicle.
Each of the two permanent safety cables included is rated 7,500 lbs. Each cable must meet or exceed the gross weight of the towed vehicle.
Safety glasses should be worn at all times during installation. Take care when cutting any plastic or metal, as injury may occur if done improperly. Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) when towing.
After installation, periodically check the condition of all towing equipment. Ensure all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. Do not tow with worn or damaged parts. Review your vehicle manufacturer's owner's manual for specific towing recommendations, capacities, and requirements for both the towed vehicle and towing vehicle.
When not towing, insert the socket plugs (#10) into the ends of the tow bar base plate (#1). When ready to tow, install the tow bar mounting tabs (#3) instead.
Position the tow bar base plate (#1) on the vehicle so it is flush with the top and front edges of the frame. Make sure the base plate is level before clamping it into place. The base plate must be positioned after clearing the driver side frame of any electrical attachments.
The spacer plate (#2) is installed after drilling the remaining holes in the side plate. It is positioned between the side plate and the vehicle frame, and 3/8" hardware is installed through it. Two spacer plates are included, one for each side of the vehicle.
In Step 9, unclip the temperature sensor and let it hang from the wiring harness. In Step 18, use the included 8" cable tie (#8) to reattach the temperature sensor to the plastic loop below the radiator on the driver-side of the vehicle.
