Yes. ST/SE models require marking and cutting off areas on the upper shroud using a paint pen and utility knife (Step 9). SFE models require removing four push pins from the shutter shroud, removing the temperature sensor, unsnapping clips, removing the shutter, and relocating the fuse box to a provided bracket (Step 10). SFE models also require drilling two holes in the air dam to relocate the temperature sensor (Step 19).
Required tools include: torque wrench, drill, sockets (7mm, 8mm, 9/16"), drill bits (13/32"), hole saw (1-1/4"), Torx bits (T25, T30), tape measure, Phillips screwdriver, utility knife, flat head screwdriver, large vise grip, reciprocating saw, and 3/8" fishwire. Safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation.
The kit includes: 1 main body, 2 mounting plates, 2 mounting tabs, 2 safety cables (3,500 lbs each), 10 square hole spacers (1/4" x 1" x 2"), 2 carriage bolts (3/8"-16, 1-1/2"), 8 carriage bolts (3/8"-16, 2"), 10 flange nuts (3/8"), 1 hex head bolt (1/4"-20, 3/4"), 1 Nylock nut (1/4"), 1 flat washer (1/4"), 1 fuse relocation bracket, 2 cable ties (15"), 2 quick links (1/4"), and 2 socket plugs. Fishwire (3/8") is also included.
The following must be temporarily removed: headlights (both sides), front fascia panel, and windshield washer reservoir. The hood latch support brace must also be removed. For SFE models, the shutter shroud and fuse box must be removed. All components except the shutter shroud and SFE shutter are reinstalled after base plate installation.

Have a clean container ready to catch the washer fluid when the lines are disconnected. Set the fluid aside to refill the reservoir after installation is complete.
Yes. Drilling is required at multiple points: a 13/32" hole in the vehicle frame for the front-most mounting point (Step 14), 13/32" holes for the two rear mounting points on each side (Step 15), and 13/32" holes for the remaining two rearward holes on each mounting bracket (Step 16). A 1-1/4" hole saw is used to drill an access hole in the top of the bumper on each side (Step 12). For SFE models, two additional holes may be drilled in the air dam to relocate the temperature sensor (Step 19).
Yes. Trimming is required on multiple components. For ST/SE models, areas on the upper shroud must be marked with a paint pen and cut off with a utility knife (Step 9). For all models, areas on the frame extension must be marked and cut off using a metal-cutting tool such as a reciprocating saw or cutoff wheel (Step 11). The back side of the front fascia must be trimmed along the outer groove using a utility knife, cutting only the inner layer (Step 20). Finally, the front fascia must be trimmed to make space for safety cable loops and attachment tabs (Step 21).
Take care when cutting any plastic or metal as injury may occur if done improperly. When cutting the frame extension, be careful not to cut or damage lines behind the cutting area. When trimming the front fascia inner layer, be careful not to damage the outer layer. Safety glasses should be worn at all times during installation.
All carriage bolts and flange nuts used to secure the tow bar base plate to the vehicle frame must be torqued to 37 lb-ft. This applies to the front-most hole (Step 14), the two rear holes (Step 15), and the remaining two rearward holes (Step 16) on each side of the vehicle.

Check that the windshield washer reservoir has at least 1/16" clearance from the base plate. Verify that safety cables do not pinch or interfere with hoses, wiring, or other components. The base plate must be level before drilling. If it is not level after initial positioning, reposition it on the vehicle frame, ensuring the bottom edge of the side plates is flush with the bottom of the frame and the 1/2" gap between the front edge of the side plates and back edge of the bumper is maintained. Clamp it in place again and verify levelness before proceeding with drilling.
Safety cables must not pinch or interfere with any hoses, wiring, or other components. If interference occurs, reposition the cables by adjusting how they loop around the vehicle frame and link to the tow bar base plate main body. Ensure each cable is routed to avoid contact with engine components, fuel lines, brake lines, and electrical harnesses.
