It features an OE style design to fully integrate with the front of the vehicle and maintain a factory look. This Buick Enclave tow bar baseplate is constructed from high-quality steel and is precisely welded for a perfect fit. It is physically tested for absolute safety and peace of mind while dinghy towing. It also features a unique co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and highly durable powder coat to protect against the outdoor elements. This base plate for towing comes with attachment tabs, safety cables and installation hardware.

Required tools are: socket set (7mm, 10mm, 15mm, 3/4"), drill with 7/16" and 17/32" drill bits, Phillips screwdriver, T20 Torx bit, flathead screwdriver, large vise grip, wrench (18mm), utility knife, torque wrench, tape measure, and die grinder with cutoff wheel. Proper tools will improve installation quality and reduce time required.

Yes. Safety cables must be installed and used at all times when dinghy towing. The kit includes two permanent safety cables (7,500 lbs. each) that must be connected to the base plate and vehicle frame—one on each side. In the event of a disconnect, the safety cables are designed to help prevent complete vehicle separation. Safety cables are not a replacement for safety chains connecting the tow vehicle to the towed vehicle.

When not towing, insert the socket plugs into the ends of the tow bar base plate. The tow bar mounting tabs are installed only when ready to tow. The manual recommends removing the base plate attachment tabs when not in use.
