This 4-bike rack model features high-strength steel construction and a capacity of 180 pounds for secure transportation of your bikes. It has an underslung design for easy loading, allowing bikes to be lifted onto the cradles from underneath with no threading needed. The premium cradles provide a secure hold and a rubber bumper along the vertical support to help protect the frames from marring and scratches. The bike rack also features a tilting frame for easy access to the trunk or other rear cargo area, and the arms can be folded down for compact storage of the bike rack when not in use. To help protect this CURT bike rack for the long haul, it comes with a dual finish of A-coat and durable black powder coat.

The CURT 18412 fits any vehicle equipped with a 2" receiver tube trailer hitch. Check that your vehicle has a standard 2" receiver tube opening before purchasing. The product is not designed for installation on trailers or other towed vehicles.
The CURT 18412 has a maximum weight capacity of 180 lbs and can carry up to 4 bikes.
The CURT 18412 is designed for standard bikes only. It is not intended for off-road use, tandems, or recumbents.
You will need a 3/4" wrench to install the CURT 18412 bike rack.
Installation involves four main steps: (1) Insert the ActiveLink shank into the vehicle receiver tube and secure it with a 1/2" hex head bolt, flat washer, star washer, and clip. (2) Lower the bike rack onto the ActiveLink shank pivot, lift until it latches, insert the safety pin through the upright tube and shank, and use the hand wheel to tighten and reduce rattling. (3) Lift the arm until it latches and insert the safety pin. (4) Install bikes on the rack and secure with velcro straps. When carrying multiple bikes, alternate the direction each bike faces.
The CURT 18412 includes: 1 bike rack, 1 ActiveLink shank, 1 hairpin clip, 1 lock washer (1/2"), 1 flat washer (1/2"), 1 anti-rattle bolt, and 8 velcro straps.
Insert the ActiveLink shank into the vehicle receiver tube. Secure it with a 1/2" hex head bolt, flat washer, star washer (lock washer), and clip (hairpin clip). These components are included with the product.
After inserting the safety pin through the upright tube and ActiveLink shank, use the hand wheel to tighten the upright and reduce rattling.
When carrying more than one bike, alternate the directions the bikes are facing on the rack. The first bike should face right, the second bike should face left, and so on. This helps with balance and stability.
Install the bikes on the rack and secure them with the provided velcro straps. Eight straps are included with the product.
Yes. To fold the top arm up for two-bike position, remove the safety pin from the center pivot, rotate the arm back, and reinsert the safety pin into the hole nearest to the pivot pin.
To fold the arm down to storage position, pull the safety pin at the top that secures the arm in the outward position. While holding the arm, press the handle on the back of the upright and lower the arm to the transport/storage position. Reinsert the safety pin. It is recommended to transport and store the bike rack with the upper arm folded down in the four-bike position.
At the base, remove the safety pin from the ActiveLink shank. Lift the small handle on the back of the upright and tilt the rack away from the vehicle.
Periodic inspection of your product should be performed to ensure all hardware and components remain secure. The manual does not specify a particular interval; regular checks before use are recommended.
