The package includes: 1 arm post, 1 shank (2"), 12 rubber arm straps, 1 hex head bolt kit (bolt, two washers, nut), 1 anti-rattle bolt and clip, 1 clip, 1 8mm Allen wrench, and 1 19mm wrench.
The installation kit includes an 8mm Allen wrench and a 19mm wrench. These are the only tools required for assembly and installation.
Assembly has two steps: (1) Raise the arms on the arm post to the outright position and secure with the attached lynch pin. (2) Using the hex head bolt kit, attach the bottom of the arm post to the shank, making sure to install the bolt in the bottom hole. Insert the bolt connected to the main body through the top hole of the shank and secure with the provided clip.
Insert the bike rack shank into the vehicle receiver tube. Secure with the 1/2" hex head bolt, flat washer, star washer, and clip provided in the bolt kit.
Install the bikes on the rack and secure with the provided rubber bike arm straps. Be sure to secure both the cross post and seat post to the rack. When towing more than one bike, alternate the directions the bikes are facing: first bike faces right, second bike faces left, and so on.
At the base, remove the clip from the upper bolt holding the bike rack in the vertical position, then remove the bolt and tilt the rack away from the vehicle. At the top, pull the lynch pin that secures the arms in the outward position, fold the bike rack arms down to the transport position, and replace the lynch pin. The rear cargo area is now accessible.
Check the tightness of all bolts periodically. The manual does not specify an exact interval, but regular inspection is recommended to ensure safe operation.
Check straps for wear and replace if worn. Inspect the straps regularly to ensure they remain in good condition for secure bike attachment.
Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The bike rack itself does not have a separate capacity rating; you must follow your vehicle's specifications.
