Yes, the Curt 16430 is designed for RAM 2500 and RAM 3500 trucks. The installation instructions provide specific measurements for both 6-foot and 8-foot bed lengths: for an 8-foot bed, measure 28-1/8" from the back of the bed to the back of the rear rail; for a 6-foot bed, measure 26-1/2". The king pin should be centered over the axle, with approximate cab-to-king-pin distances of 56" for an 8-foot bed and 36" for a 6-foot bed.
Plastic bed liners must be trimmed for metal-to-metal contact between the mounting rails and the truck bed. Spray-on liners may be installed on without trimming. Do not install mounting rails over plastic bed liners without trimming, as this will compromise the installation.

You will drill 1/8" holes in the bed (which are then enlarged to 9/16"), and enlarge existing holes in the rear bed support to 7/8" to allow tube spacers to pass through. The manual states "NO DRILLING REQUIRED" in the install notes, referring to frame drilling.

Center the rear mounting rail between the box sides using a tape measure. Position it at the proper distance from the rear edge of the truck box as shown in Figure 2: 28-1/8" for an 8-foot bed or 26-1/2" for a 6-foot bed, measured from the back of the bed to the back of the rear rail. The rail must be perpendicular to the length of the truck bed.
The front and rear rails should be positioned 22" on center from rear to front. This is verified in Step 3b by repositioning the rear rail in place and measuring 22" on center from rear to front rails before drilling the Row 3 hole.
If an interference issue exists with the front bed support, you must slightly shift the location of the holes and brackets towards the rear of the vehicle. Shift the rear brackets toward the rear while checking that the supplied hardware will still pass through the bracket and the existing hole in the shock tower (if present). Mark and drill new hole locations through the rear frame brackets, then verify bed support clearance. Repeat this process as necessary until clearance is achieved.
On the rear driver side, slide the tube spacer (part 16430-TS) up through the bed support, around the carriage bolt as shown in Detail A. While holding the tube spacers in position, place the driver side rear bracket (16430-DSF) and driver side rear spacer plate (16430-DSRS) on the inside of the frame. Install a U-bolt (CM-1214-UBS) to hold the plate in position; the U-bolt wraps around the outside of the frame, right behind the rear bed support. Loosely install 1/2" flange nuts onto the ends of the bolts.
On the rear passenger side, slide the tube spacer (part 16430-TS) up through the bed support, around the carriage bolt as shown in Detail A. While holding the tube spacers in position, place the passenger side rear bracket (16430-PSRWA) on the inside of the frame. Install a U-bolt (CM-1214-UBS) to hold the plate in position; the U-bolt wraps around the outside of the frame, right behind the rear bed support, or if the shock tower is present, the top passes through the forward most hole in the shock tower. Loosely install 1/2" flange nuts onto the ends of the bolts.
The u-shaped spacers (CM-SP136 and CM-SP33) are placed between the bracket and the bed to prevent the bed from collapsing when the bolts are tightened. Depending on bed style, spacers may be placed above or below the bed mounting rails.
Place the unassembled 5th wheel saddles, slider, or goose into the already installed mounting rail. Position the second mounting rail with saddles, slider, or goose by inserting the tabs into the mounting rail and pushing the mounting rail tight towards the other mounting rail. Ensure that the mounting rail is centered between the box sides on the length of the truck box floor. This will position the mounting rail in the correct location and ensure that the 5th wheel will have a snug fit to the truck. If more than one hitch product will be used with the rails, both should be used at the same time to align the second rail and ensure one product does not compromise the fit of the other.
The U-bolt on the driver side must be placed between the brake line and the frame. Improper placement of the driver side U-bolt may result in damage to the vehicle's braking system.
First, mark and center punch the bolt positions as shown in Figure 2, then drill 1/8" holes in Row 1. After temporarily positioning the rear frame brackets and verifying alignment, center punch and drill the remaining holes in Rows 1 and 2. Then enlarge all 1/8" holes in Rows 1 and 2 to 9/16". Do not enlarge the holes in the bed beyond 9/16".
From under the vehicle, enlarge the holes in the rear bed support to 7/8". This will allow the tube spacers to pass through. Do not enlarge the holes in the bed itself.
Torque all fasteners to 110 lb-ft in the following sequence: first torque the mounting rails to the frame brackets, then torque the frame brackets to the truck frame.
Two sizes of carriage bolts are used: 1/2-13 UNC x 1-3/4" (part 10-10272, qty 8) and 1/2-13 UNC x 4-1/2" (part 10-10297, qty 3). The 1/2" x 1-3/4" bolts are installed in the rear holes of the rear rail (Row 1) and in the center hole of the rear rail. The 1/2" x 4-1/2" bolts are installed in the front holes of the rear rail (Row 2).
The U-bolts are part number CM-1214-UBS, sized 1/2-13 x 4.5 x 7.25 x 1 3/4 SQ. Four U-bolts are included (qty 4). They are used to secure the rear and front frame brackets to the truck frame. The U-bolt wraps around the outside of the frame, and 1/2" flange nuts are installed on the ends of the bolts.
The mounting rails are secured to the bed using 1/2" x 1-3/4" carriage bolts (part 10-10272) with u-shaped spacers placed between the rail and the bed. These bolts are attached to the bed using 1-1/2" x 2" spacers (part CM-SP3) and 1/2" flange nuts (part 20-00062). The center hole of the rear rail uses a 1/2" x 1-3/4" carriage bolt with a u-shaped spacer between the rail and bed, and a 1-1/2" x 2" spacer and 1/2" flange nut on the bottom.
If the wire harness interferes with the bracket, detach it from the inside of the driver side frame between the fuel tank and the shock tower. After installation is complete, reattach the wire harness to the inside of the driver side frame. If necessary, use the supplied cable tie (part CM-116415-CT, 11/64" x 15", 50# UV black) to secure it.
When drilling holes, be aware of potential risks to vehicle components and make appropriate safeguards to protect them from damage. Wear safety glasses during installation. Be particularly careful when drilling into the bed and bed support to avoid damaging fuel lines, brake lines, wiring, or other components beneath the bed.
Yes. Before installing mounting rails and hitch, measure to be sure there will be enough clearance between the truck and trailer to allow for turns. This is a critical safety step to prevent collision between the truck bed and trailer during turning.
