Yes. In Step 1, remove the locking pin from the offset gooseball, unlock the handle, and insert the gooseball into the gooseneck collar in the truck bed. The arrow on the side of the gooseball must point toward the cab of the vehicle.
No. In Step 2, snug the two M10 hex bolts, four flat washers, and two nylon lock nuts securing the extension arm, but do not fully tighten them. Final tightening occurs in Step 5 after the extension arm is positioned against the cross arms.
In Step 3, remove the handle lock pin and unlock the handle on the passenger-side cross arm (#2). Mount it into the pucks in the truck bed, then close and secure the handle using the handle lock pin. In Step 4, repeat this process for the driver-side cross arm (#1). Note that the driver-side cross arm will overlap the passenger-side cross arm.
If a handle will not close with moderate pressure, you must adjust the locking T-bolt. Remove the cotter pin securing the castle nut above the handle. Loosen the castle nut 1/4-turn while pressing down on the T-bolt, then reattempt to close the handle. Repeat this process in 1/4-turn increments until the handle closes. Do not force the handle closed, as this may damage the locking bolt and handle, possibly resulting in trailer detachment.
In Step 5, slide the extension arm forward until its face meets the flat of the cross arms. Ensure the extension arm does not rest on the truck bed; a minimum 1/4" gap is recommended. Then secure it using two M10 carriage bolts, two M10 flat washers, and two M10 nylon lock nuts.
