The installation also uses existing weld nuts on the vehicle frame rails.
1. Run item 1 (the hitch) into existing weld nuts to clear the threads. 2. Tape flat washers (item 7) to the rearward weld nut location on both frame rails. 3. Raise the hitch into position. 4. Install M10 fasteners as shown. 5. Install the 3/8 U-bolt through the vehicle tie-down hook and through the tie-down hook attachment of the receiver, then install flat washer, lock washers, and 3/8 hex nuts. 6. Tighten all fasteners to the required torque specification. 7. Raise the exhaust back into position and reinstall rubber isolators.
Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced.
