Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.

The Draw-tite Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2" Square Receiver, Black for Select Honda CR-V 76342 (Part #DT76342) Drilling is required for installation. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Yes, part number 76342 is designed for Honda CR-V. However, the manual states to visit the Horizon Global website for the most up-to-date information regarding specific application years, sub-models, and trim levels, as compatibility may vary.
The 76342 is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight (GTW) of 3500 lb (1587 kg) and maximum tongue weight of 525 lb (238 kg). However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The lowest capacity of any component in your towing system—gross trailer weight, tongue weight, trailer hitch, or vehicle—determines the maximum load you can safely tow.
Fastener Kit 76342F includes: (4) carriage bolts 7/16"-14 x 1.25 GR5; (4) spacers .188x1.00x2.00; (4) conical washers 7/16"; (4) hex nuts 7/16 GR2; (1) carriage bolt 1/2-13x2.00 GR5; (1) spacer .250x1.50x3.00; (1) conical washer 1/2"; (1) hex nut 1/2 GR5; and (4) fish wires 7/16-14.
Required tools: safety glasses, ratchet, sockets (10 mm, 3/4", 11/16"), torque wrench, tape measure, marker, utility knife, plastic trim tools, flat head screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, and exhaust removal pliers.
Yes. The first installation step requires you to lower the exhaust using an exhaust hanger removal tool. You must remove (4) rearmost rubber hangers for the two exhaust mufflers and (1) forward rubber hanger. Spraying lubricant or soapy water on the rubber hangers makes them slide off the metal pins more easily. Be sure the exhaust is properly supported before removing the rubber hangers. After installation, you reinstall the muffler hanger to move the muffler back into position.
No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing access holes on the frame rails. However, you must trim the lower fascia using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife. The manual provides approximate dimensions (3" and 1 5/8" from the centerline of the vehicle) for the trim line. Before trimming, check for sensors and wiring on the inside of the fascia.
Yes. Using a flat head screwdriver, remove (5) rivets from the bottom of the fascia and keep them for reinstallation. After the hitch is installed and tightened, reinstall the (4) rivets on the bottom of the fascia. One rivet is returned to the vehicle owner.
Only if your vehicle is 2023 or newer. For 2023 and newer models, remove the center splash guard using a 10 mm socket to remove the nuts, then use a flat head screwdriver to remove the rivets. Return the splash guard to the vehicle owner.
Tighten all 7/16-14x1.25 GR5 fasteners to 50 ft-lb (68 N·m) and the 1/2-13x2.00 GR5 fastener to 75 ft-lb (102 N·m). Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Feed the carriage bolts ① and spacers ② through access holes on both side frame rails using the pull wires ⑨ for horizontal holes (see Figure 1). Leave the pull wires attached. The process involves three steps: (A) insert the bolt and block into the frame, (B) align the block on the access hole, and (C) pull the bolt through the block.
The conical washers must be installed with the teeth side against the hitch. This applies to both the 7/16" conical washers (③) and the 1/2" conical washer (⑦).
No. During installation, you loosely install the conical washers and hex nuts to the hitch, and loosely install the carriage bolt, spacer, conical washer, and hex nut through the hook bracket. Only after all fasteners are in place do you tighten them to the specified torque values: 50 ft-lb (68 N·m) for the 7/16-14x1.25 GR5 fasteners and 75 ft-lb (102 N·m) for the 1/2-13x2.00 GR5 fastener.
After installation, check that all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual recommends checking the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners remain tight and the hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
No. The manual explicitly states: DO NOT cut, weld, or modify this trailer hitch. Additionally, do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Be sure the exhaust is properly supported before removing rubber hangers. Check for sensors and wiring on the inside of the fascia before trimming. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A damaged hitch or ball must be removed and replaced.
The maximum tongue weight is 525 lb (238 kg). However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The lowest capacity of any component in your towing system determines the maximum load you can safely tow.
The 76342 is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 3500 lb (1587 kg) and maximum tongue weight of 525 lb (238 kg). Weight-distributing capacity is listed as N/A.
The manual does not mention disconnecting the battery. However, the installation involves removing fascia rivets and potentially working near electrical components, so consult your vehicle's owner's manual for any battery disconnection requirements specific to your CR-V.
The manual does not explicitly state whether a second person is required. The installation difficulty is rated as Beginner, and the manual does not mention lifting equipment or additional personnel being necessary, but you may find it helpful to have assistance when raising the hitch into position over the exhaust.
Spray lubricant or soapy water on the rubber hangers. This makes them slide off the metal pins more easily. Ensure the exhaust is properly supported before removing the rubber hangers to prevent damage or injury.
The manual instructs you to check for sensors and wiring on the inside of the fascia prior to trimming. If sensors or wiring are present, do not trim through them. Consult your vehicle's wiring diagram or contact technical support at 800-632-3290 or TechnicalSupport@horizonglobal.com for guidance on safely routing around these components.
The installation difficulty is rated as Beginner. Installation times are listed on Horizon Global websites or found in downloadable application guides. Difficulty levels are based on time and effort involved and may vary depending on installer expertise, vehicle condition, and availability of proper tools and equipment.
The manual indicates that the hitch installation involves connecting to the vehicle tow hook (see Figure 3 and 4), suggesting the vehicle must have a factory tow hook. However, the manual does not explicitly state whether the hitch requires a factory tow hook or whether it can be installed on vehicles without one. Contact Horizon Global technical support at 800-632-3290 or TechnicalSupport@horizonglobal.com to confirm compatibility with your specific vehicle.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair a damaged hitch. Contact Horizon Global at 800-632-3290 or TechnicalSupport@horizonglobal.com for replacement parts and warranty information.
Towing trailers beyond the maximum recommended gross trailer weight (GTW) of your vehicle could result in engine, transmission, or structural damage. This could also lead to loss of vehicle control, vehicle rollover, and/or personal injury. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity or the hitch towing capacities. The lowest capacity of any component in your towing system (gross trailer weight, tongue weight, trailer hitch, or vehicle) determines the maximum load you can safely tow.

You must lower the muffler by removing its rubber hangers, but you do not need to completely remove it. Remove (4) rearmost rubber hangers and (1) forward rubber hanger using an exhaust removal tool. After installation, reinstall the muffler hanger to move the muffler back into position.
The installation involves trimming the lower fascia with a utility knife and removing rivets, which are permanent modifications to the vehicle. The hitch itself can be removed, but if removed, you must plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. The fascia trim cannot be reversed.
Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
