The M12 bolt and associated washers are used only if the driver's side frame has a weldnut.
The pull wires are used to feed the carriage bolts and spacers into the frame rails through the access holes. They are left attached during initial positioning and then removed in step 4 before the conical washers and hex nuts are installed.
A bevel washer (item 8) is needed on the driver's side rear attachment only if there is a gap between the vehicle frame and the hitch. If no gap exists, the bevel washer is not required.
If the driver's side frame has a weldnut, use the M12 bolt (M12 x 1.75 x 40 CL8.8) and conical washer (1/2") instead of the standard carriage bolt and hex nut. Tighten this M12 bolt to 68 Lb.-Ft. (92 N·M). A bevel washer may still be needed if there is a gap between the vehicle frame and hitch.
In step 4, the conical washers and hex nuts should be installed loosely. All fasteners are then tightened to their specified torque values in step 5 using a torque wrench. Do not fully tighten fasteners until step 5.
