The first step is to remove the rear bumper fascia. Gently pull back the wheel well molding with plastic trim tools to locate plastic rivets (1 on each side). Use a drill to remove 2 plastic rivets from each side of the plastic wheel well molding and fascia. Rivets cannot be reused; replacements are supplied.
Use the key to unlock the blue knob. Push in the blue knob and rotate it clockwise until you hear a click sound. At that point, you can separate the receiver from the receiver housing.
Two fastener assemblies are used: each consists of an M12 bolt, a flat washer, and a prevailing torque nut. Insert them through the holes in the receiver housing and hitch brackets, then torque each to 92 lb-ft (125 N·m).

The 76908 accepts ball mounts with a maximum rise of 10.5 inches (distance from center of ball hole to center of pin hole) and a minimum rise of 0.75 inches (distance from top of shank to top of ball platform). Safety chain attachments include quick links #49131 (5/16 inch, max GTW 3,500 lb) and #44133 (3/8 inch, max GTW 3,500 lb), sold separately.
