Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Equip your vehicle for towing and hitch-mounted accessories with a dependable CURT 2" trailer hitch. Designed for a vehicle-specific fit, CURT receiver hitches provide a strong and secure connection point for towing trailers, carrying bikes, transporting cargo and using other compatible 2-inch hitch accessories.
Our selection of CURT 2-inch receiver hitches includes options for trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and passenger vehicles. Each hitch is engineered to match specific vehicle mounting points, helping provide a clean installation and dependable performance. Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.

The Draw-tite Hidden Hitch® Completely Hidden Trailer Hitch 2" Removable Receiver, Black for Select Volvo XC40 76922 (Part #DT76922) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Yes, part 76922 is designed for 2019-current Volvo XC40 models. For the most up-to-date information regarding specific application years and trim levels, visit www.horizonglobal.com.
The 76922 is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight (GTW) of 3,500 lb (1,589 kg) and a maximum tongue weight of 350 lb (159 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
Required tools include: ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, 8mm and 15mm sockets, 6-inch socket extension, tape measure, utility knife, marker, plastic trim tools, silicone sealant, gloves, T25 Torx bit, and tin snips. A 6-inch socket extension is specifically needed for the installation.
Yes. Step 2 of the installation requires removing the bumper beam using a 15mm socket to remove six (6) M10 flange nuts. The bumper beam is then reinstalled after the hitch brackets are mounted.
Yes. The lower fascia must be removed to access the hitch mounting points. This involves removing five (5) T25 Torx screws from the wheel well liner, four (4) 8mm bolts from the bottom edge, disconnecting backup sensor wiring in four places, unplugging the hands-free liftgate housing connector, and removing two lights. The fascia is then reinstalled after hitch installation.
No drilling is required. However, trimming is required: the lower fascia must be notched approximately 3-1/2 inches wide by 3-1/2 inches tall at the bottom, and the heatshield must be trimmed approximately 9-1/2 inches wide by 3-1/2 inches tall at the bottom center. Use a utility knife for the fascia and tin snips for the heatshield.
The two M12 fastener assemblies (bolt, flat washer, and prevailing torque nut) that attach the receiver housing to the hitch brackets must be torqued to 92 lb-ft (125 N·m).
The six (6) M10 flange nuts that attach the hitch brackets to the vehicle end panel studs must be torqued to 38 lb-ft (52 N·m) using a torque wrench.
Yes. Silicone sealant must be applied to both hitch bracket mounting surfaces before the hitch and bumper beam are raised into position. This helps prevent water infiltration.
Yes. Using a utility knife, remove excess caulk from the end panel near the hitch bracket mounting surface so the bracket sits flat against the end panel on both sides. This ensures proper fitment.
The fastener kit (76922F) includes: two (2) M12x1.75x100 mm CL10.9 bolts, two (2) 7/16-inch flat washers, and two (2) M12x1.75 CL10 prevailing torque nuts. These fasteners attach the receiver housing to the hitch brackets. The six M10 flange nuts that attach the hitch to the vehicle are existing factory fasteners that are reused.
The package includes the hitch receiver assembly, receiver housing with weather covers, one warning card (to be kept in the vehicle glove compartment), one warning label (to be applied to the top of the receiver), one vehicle door jamb label, and the fastener kit (76922F) containing the bolts, washers, and nuts needed to attach the receiver housing to the hitch.
Use the key to unlock the blue knob on the receiver housing. Push in the blue knob and rotate it clockwise until you hear a click sound. At that point, you can separate the receiver from the receiver housing. The receiver housing stays on the hitch, and the receiver can be removed when not in use.
Apply one label to the top of the receiver and one label to the vehicle door jamb. Keep the warning card in the vehicle glove compartment for future reference.
The 76922 accepts ball mounts with a maximum length of 10.5 inches (measured from the center of the ball hole to the center of the pin hole) and a minimum rise of 0.75 inches (measured from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform). Ball mounts are sold separately.
Two quick link options are available (sold separately): #49131 (5/16 inch) with a maximum GTW of 3,500 lb, and #44133 (3/8 inch) with a maximum GTW of 3,500 lb. These quick links attach to the hitch for securing safety chains.
Key safety warnings include: do not cut, weld, or modify the receiver; check all fasteners periodically to ensure the hitch is securely mounted; load the trailer heavier in front; do not exceed the lower of your vehicle manufacturer's towing rating or 3,500 lb GTW; always wear your seatbelt; slow down when towing and never exceed posted speed limits; if excess sway occurs, release the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel steady—do not brake or accelerate. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fume entry.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual emphasizes that proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing. Periodically verify that the hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball that has been damaged should be removed and replaced.
The 76922 is a weight-carrying hitch. It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lb and a maximum tongue weight of 350 lb. Weight-distributing specifications are listed as N/A.
Yes, the 76922 is designed for 2019-current Volvo XC40 models. Check www.horizonglobal.com for the most current trim level compatibility.
Maximum gross trailer weight is 3,500 lb with a 350 lb tongue weight limit. Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's towing rating.
No drilling is required. However, you must trim the lower fascia (3-1/2" x 3-1/2" notch) and heatshield (9-1/2" x 3-1/2" opening) using a utility knife and tin snips.
Essential tools: torque wrench, 8mm and 15mm sockets, T25 Torx bit, utility knife, tin snips, tape measure, marker, plastic trim tools, silicone sealant, and safety glasses.
Receiver housing to hitch: 92 lb-ft (125 N·m). Hitch brackets to vehicle: 38 lb-ft (52 N·m) for the six M10 flange nuts.
Yes. Both the lower fascia and bumper beam must be removed to access the hitch mounting points. They are reinstalled after the hitch is mounted.
The maximum tongue weight is 350 lb (159 kg). Do not exceed this limit or your vehicle manufacturer's rating, whichever is lower.
Remove excess caulk from the end panel near the hitch bracket mounting surface using a utility knife. The bracket must sit flat against the end panel on both sides before the fasteners are tightened.
Ensure the tabs in the lower fascia are properly aligned with the upper fascia before reinstalling. If alignment is still incorrect, verify that the hitch bracket is sitting flat against the end panel and that the fascia notch (3-1/2" x 3-1/2") has been cut to the correct size without interfering with the hitch or sensors.
Check all fasteners periodically to ensure they remain tight. If fasteners are found to be loose, retorque the M10 flange nuts to 38 lb-ft (52 N·m) and the receiver housing fasteners to 92 lb-ft (125 N·m). Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
