LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality. They have 5" wide treads that extend the full length of the side steps, and they feature a strong, lightweight aluminum core with a stainless steel trim for a bright, clean accent. MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ford Transit-150, Transit-250 and Transit-350 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The Mega/Omega Step Bracket Kit 571720 is a mounting system for step boards on 2015 and newer Ford Transit Van Long/Long models. It consists of front mounting brackets, AC mounting brackets, U-bolts, and fastening hardware that attach to the vehicle's rocker panel and pinch weld to securely mount an aftermarket step board.
The Curt 571720 Mega/Omega Step Bracket Kit is designed for 2015 and newer Ford Transit Van models with Long/Long configuration (long wheelbase and long roof). Verify your vehicle matches this specification before purchasing. The manual does not list compatibility with other Transit configurations or model years.
You will need: drill with 3/32", 3/8", and 19/64" drill bits; ratchet; 1/2" wrench; 1/2" socket; putty knife; flat screwdriver; and marker. These are the minimum tools required to complete the installation.
The kit includes: 3 front mounting brackets (553204), 1 AC mounting bracket (553211), 1 AC top mounting bracket (553212), 3 U-bolts 3" (101795), 6 bolt retainers (101572), 10 lock washers 5/16" (100030), 8 washers 5/16" (100034), 10 M8 flange nuts (105859), 10 M8 hex bolts (102549), 8 M8 clip nuts (101566), and 2 thread cutting bolts 5/16" (109177).
You do not need to remove the plastic rocker molding completely. Using a flat-head screwdriver, release only the bottom push pins from underneath the plastic rocker molding. The manual specifically states: "Do not remove plastic trim all the way only release the bottom push pins."
Place a putty knife between the pinch weld and the plastic rocker molding before drilling. This protects the molding from damage caused by the drill bit during the drilling process.
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill pilot holes using a 3/32" drill bit, then enlarge them to 3/8" for the rocker panel holes. For the AC bracket upper holes, you will drill with a 19/64" bit. The lower AC bracket holes use a 3/8" bit. All drilling is done into the rocker panel and pinch weld.
First, mark each hole location on the rocker and pinch weld using the bracket as a guide. Then drill a pilot hole using a 3/32" drill bit at each marked spot. Finally, enlarge each pilot hole to 3/8" using a 3/8" drill bit. Repeat this sequence for both the passenger and driver side brackets.
The AC bracket requires two different hole sizes: the upper two holes are drilled with a 19/64" drill bit, and the lower two holes are drilled with a 3/8" drill bit. The upper holes use self-threading bolts, while the lower holes use clip nuts.
1. Start with the passenger side front bracket: mark mounting holes, drill pilot holes (3/32"), enlarge to 3/8", release bottom push pins from plastic rocker molding. 2. Assemble the front bracket using U-bolts, bolt retainers, washers, and nuts; leave loose. 3. Mark and drill the AC bracket holes (19/64" upper, 3/8" lower). 4. Assemble the AC bracket with M8 bolts and washers; leave loose. 5. Repeat steps 1–4 for the driver side. 6. Place the step board on the brackets and tighten all brackets until the board is level.
Thread the 3" U-bolt through the top two mounting holes and secure it with two plastic bolt retainers. Slide two clip nuts onto the pinch weld for the bottom mounting locations. Slide the front mounting bracket onto the U-bolts and secure it with two 5/16" flat washers and two M8 nuts on the studs, plus two 5/16" lock washers and two M8 bolts in the clip nuts. Leave all brackets loose until the step board is placed and levelled.
Assemble the AC bracket using two M8 bolts, two 5/16" washers, and two M8 nuts. After drilling the mounting holes in the vehicle, slide two clip nuts onto the pinch weld for the lower holes. Attach the AC bracket using two M8 bolts and two 5/16" lock washers on the bottom clip nuts, and two 5/16" thread cutting bolts and two 5/16" lock washers on the upper holes. Leave the bracket loose until the step board is placed and levelled.
Leave all brackets loose during the drilling and assembly steps. Only after you have placed the step board on the brackets should you tighten all brackets so that the board is level. The manual states: "Leave ALL brackets Loose at this time" and "Place step board on brackets tighten all brackets so the board is level."
The front mounting bracket is secured to the U-bolts using: two 5/16" flat washers and two M8 nuts on the studs (top), and two 5/16" lock washers and two M8 bolts in the clip nuts (bottom). All fasteners should remain loose until the step board is placed and the bracket is levelled.
The two 5/16" thread cutting bolts (part 109177) are used to attach the AC bracket to the upper mounting holes on the pinch weld. These self-threading bolts are paired with 5/16" lock washers and do not require pre-drilled threads; they cut their own threads as they are installed.
The kit includes three front mounting brackets (553204), one AC mounting bracket (553211), and one AC top mounting bracket (553212). The three front mounting brackets mount on the rocker panel—two on the sides (passenger and driver) and one additional bracket. The AC mounting bracket and AC top mounting bracket mount along the pinch seam. Refer to the included figures for specific mounting locations.
The manual does not provide torque specifications for any of the fasteners used in the 571720 installation. Contact the manufacturer or refer to the step board assembly instructions for final tightening specifications.
Yes. Place a putty knife between the pinch weld and plastic rocker molding before drilling to avoid damaging the molding. Do not remove the plastic rocker trim completely; only release the bottom push pins. The upper AC bracket holes use self-threading bolts, so do not pre-thread these holes. Ensure all brackets remain loose until the step board is placed and levelled to guarantee proper alignment and safety.
After placing the step board on the brackets and tightening all fasteners, verify that the step board is level. The manual states: "Place step board on brackets tighten all brackets so the board is level." If the board is not level, loosen the brackets, adjust their position, and retighten until level. Ensure all fasteners are secure before using the step.
The 571720 Mega/Omega Step Bracket Kit fits 2015 and newer Ford Transit Van models with Long/Long configuration only. Verify your vehicle matches this specification.
