The step pads are made from aluminum to outlast the harsh elements and ensure maximum traction and wear resistance for the raised treads. These wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long and are equipped with additional step pads toward the rear, giving you a solid and convenient step for reach into the truck bed. They?re perfect for accessing a truck tool box, headache rack, 5th wheel hitch or cargo in the truck bed. LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The kit includes aluminum extrusions (step plates), step pads, end caps, square head bolts, serrated flange nuts, and mounting hardware. The specific contents depend on your vehicle model and the bracket package you are using.
Yes, the O-MEGA II 6" Oval Step is compatible with 2014+ RAM 2500 Pickups when used with the Model 571438W2W MEGA Brackets. You must follow the specific installation instructions for RAM trucks, which include two different procedures depending on whether your truck has threaded inserts in the rocker panel or requires drilling.
The step pad positioning guide covers Silverado/Sierra (Double Cab, Extended Cab, Crew Cab), Chevrolet Express Van, GMC Savana Van, RAM (Quad Cab, Crew Cab, Mega Cab), Ford F150 (Super Cab, Super Crew Cab), and Ford Super Duty (Super Cab, Crew Cab). Specific pad locations (Pad A and Pad B distances) are provided for each model to help position the step pads correctly.
The kit includes: aluminum extrusions (step plates) in various lengths, step pads (6 total), plastic end caps (4 total), square head bolts (28 total), serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (28 total), and TEK screws #8-18 X 1/2" (30 total). Exact quantities and part numbers are listed in the Service Parts List. Additional hardware is required depending on your bracket package.
The manual requires a drill with a 1/8" bit for drilling step pad attachment holes. For RAM truck bracket installation, you will need tools to work with 1/4-20 carriage bolts, M8 X 25mm screws, and 3/8" bolts. The manual does not specify other hand tools required, so consult your bracket package instructions for a complete tool list.
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand before starting. You must also follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package, as the O-MEGA II steps are a universal application that requires vehicle-specific brackets for mounting.
Before attaching the O-MEGA II steps to the brackets, place the step pads on top of the step plates. Use the Step Pad Location Guide on Sheet 2 to find the correct position for your vehicle model. Pad A and Pad B distances are measured from the end of the step. Note: due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly.
Yes. Using the step pad as a guide, drill five 1/8" holes through the step pad into the step plate. Attach the step pads with five 8-18 X 1/2" TEK screws (Item #6) provided in the kit. Repeat this process for all step pads.
Install the end caps (Item #3) as shown in Figure 1, tightening the nuts to 5 lb-ft. There are 4 end caps total in the kit.
Position the O-MEGA II step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (Item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
The installation sequence is: 1) Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates; 2) Install end caps and tighten nuts to 5 lb-ft; 3) Position step pads using the location guide and drill five 1/8" holes per pad; 4) Attach step pads with TEK screws; 5) Position the complete step assembly on the mounting brackets; 6) Install and tighten serrated flange nuts to 19 lb-ft. The bracket installation must be completed first according to your specific bracket package instructions.
Yes. 2009-2012 RAM trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld. They will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the holes, follow Step 2.5 (installing the T-bolt weldment), then skip to Steps 2.7 and 2.8 with the bracket in place, and mark the pinch weld for drilling.
1) Place the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) against the pinch weld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 2) Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinch weld. 3) Insert two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts (Item #8) through the lower mounting flange and pinch weld. 4) Add a 1/4" flat washer (Item #9) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #10) to each bolt, leaving finger tight. 5) Insert an M8 X 25mm screw (Item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #12) through the slots on the upper mounting flange, leaving finger tight. 6) Repeat for middle and rear brackets. 7) Mirror this process on the passenger side using Items #2 (front), #1 (middle), and #4 (rear).
1) Install the T-bolt weldment (Item #14) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel's vertical wall, inserting the nut end first and leaving the threaded stud sticking out. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #15) to the threaded stud to prevent it from falling into the rocker panel. 2) Place the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) against the pinch weld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 3) Align and insert two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts (Item #8) through the lower mounting flange and pinch weld. 4) Add a 1/4" flat washer (Item #9) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #10), leaving finger tight. 5) Place a flat washer (Item #12) and M8 flange nut (Item #13) on the T-bolt's threaded stud, leaving finger tight. 6) Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 7) Insert an M8 X 25mm screw (Item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #12), leaving finger tight. 8) Repeat for middle and rear brackets. 9) Mirror on the passenger side.
1) Attach the upper mounting bracket (Item #5 or #6, depending on side) to the side of the suspension link housing by loosening the bolt that fastens the suspension links to the vehicle. Slide the upper mounting bracket between the bolt head and the frame bracket, then tighten the bolt, ensuring the upper bracket is level. 2) Fasten the lower bracket (Item #7) to the upper bracket using a 3/8" bolt, washer, and nut (Items #16, #17, #18) through the two lower holes in the upper bracket, ensuring it sits level to the front brackets.
Install the step plates and adjust the brackets and boards before tightening all the fasteners. This allows you to ensure proper alignment and positioning before final tightening.
The end cap nuts must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) that attach the square head screws (Item #4) to the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
Five 1/8" holes are drilled through each step pad into the step plate using the step pad as a guide.
Five 8-18 X 1/2" TEK screws (Item #6) are used per step pad. These are stainless steel, bronze plated screws provided in the kit (30 total).
Two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts (Item #8) per bracket are used with 1/4" flat washers (Item #9) and 1/4-20 flange nuts (Item #10). The kit includes 12 carriage bolts, 12 flat washers, and 12 flange nuts total.
M8 X 25mm screws (Item #11) with 5/16" flat washers (Item #12) are inserted through the slots on the upper mounting flange. The kit includes 12 screws and 12 washers total.
The T-bolt weldment (Item #14) uses a flat washer (Item #12) and M8 flange nut (Item #13) on the threaded stud. The kit includes 6 T-bolt weldments, 6 flange nuts, and 6 plastic bolt retainers (Item #15) to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel.
A 3/8" bolt (Item #16), 3/8" flat washer (Item #17), and serrated flange nut 3/8-16 (Item #18) are used through the two lower holes in the upper bracket. The kit includes 4 of each fastener.
Two 5/16" holes must be drilled in the pinch weld for each bracket on 2009-2012 RAM trucks, as these models do not have pre-drilled obround holes.
The O-MEGA II is a universal step system that requires a vehicle-specific bracket package. It is confirmed compatible with 2014+ RAM 2500 Pickups using the Model 571438W2W brackets. For other vehicles, consult your bracket package instructions or contact the manufacturer.
You will need a drill with a 1/8" bit to attach the step pads. For RAM bracket installation, you will need standard tools to work with carriage bolts, hex screws, and nuts. Consult your bracket package instructions for a complete tool list.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" holes per step pad to attach them to the step plates using TEK screws. Additionally, 2009-2012 RAM trucks require drilling two 5/16" holes per bracket in the pinch weld.
End cap nuts: 5 lb-ft. Step-to-bracket attachment (5/16" serrated flange nuts): 19 lb-ft. Bracket fasteners are left finger tight during assembly and tightened after final positioning.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide on Sheet 2 to find the correct distances for your vehicle model. Pad A and Pad B are measured from the end of the step. Mount the box step pad first approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then position the middle step pad accordingly.
Leave all bracket fasteners finger tight during assembly. Install and position the step plates and adjust the brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners. Then tighten the end cap nuts to 5 lb-ft and the step-to-bracket nuts to 19 lb-ft.
