LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are universal application running boards available in models 583098, 583102, 583108, 583114, 583125, 584098, 584102, 584114, and 584125. They are designed to work with specific bracket packages that mount to your vehicle. The exact fitment depends on the bracket package you select for your vehicle model.
W2W Mega Steps (model 570829) are designed for 2008 and newer Ford Super Duty Super Cab and Crew Cab pickups only. They will not fit earlier model years or other cab styles. Confirm your truck's year and cab configuration before purchasing.
Step pad locations vary by vehicle model and cab style. Pad A and Pad B positions are measured from the front of the step. For example, Silverado/Sierra Double Cab uses Pad A at 14-3/4" and Pad B at 46-3/4"; Ford F150 Super Crew Cab uses Pad A at 18-1/4" and Pad B at 56-1/2". Consult the Step Pad Location Guide table on page 2 for your specific vehicle. Note: these are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
The O-MEGA II includes: 2 aluminum extrusions (length varies by model), 6 step pads, 4 end caps, 28 square head screws (5/16-18 x 1"), 28 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 30 TEK screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). The exact extrusion length depends on your model number. Verify all parts are present before starting installation.
The W2W Mega Steps Brackets (model 570829) include: 2 front mounting brackets, 6 standard mounting brackets, 10 square head screws (5/16-18), 32 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), 8 multi-thread U-nuts (5/16-18), 12 zinc-plated hex head cap screws (5/16-18 x 1.00"), 12 zinc-plated flat washers (5/16"), 8 black-plated hex head cap screws (5/16-18 x 1.00"), 8 black-plated flat washers (5/16"), 2 upper rear mounting brackets, 2 lower rear mounting brackets, 2 hex head cap screws (7/16-14 x 1-1/2"), 2 serrated flange nuts (7/16-14), and 2 flat washers (7/16"). The step board assembly is sold separately.
Yes. The O-MEGA II steps require a specific bracket package designed for your vehicle. The manual instructs you to follow the instructions included with your bracket package to mount the brackets to your vehicle before attaching the steps. Contact the manufacturer or your retailer to ensure you have the correct bracket package for your vehicle model.
Before attaching the O-MEGA steps to the brackets, install the step pads on top of the step plates. Use the Step Pad Location Guide table to position the pads for your vehicle. Drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter using the step pad as a guide, then attach each pad with 5 #8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws. Due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first, approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly. Repeat for all step pads.
Install the end caps (item #3) as shown in figure 1, tightening the nuts to 5 LB FT.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 LB FT.
Starting at the front, install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts in the top rear hole of the first, second, and third mounting hole patterns, and in the front top hole of the fifth (rear) pattern. Install these U-nuts so that the threads face the inside of the rocker panel. This is done by inserting the threaded half of the U-nut through the large access holes and sliding the U-nut towards the round hole until it seats.
Position the brackets on the vehicle so that the top hole lines up with the multi-thread U-nut and the bottom hole lines up with the hole in the pinch weld. Attach the top of the bracket with a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc-plated hex head cap screw and 5/16" zinc-plated flat washer. Attach the bottom of the bracket to the pinch weld with a 5/16" x 1.00" black-plated hex head cap screw, 5/16" black-plated flat washer, and 5/16" serrated flange nut. Level the brackets and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT. Note: the front mounting bracket (item #2) has a 3/16" offset at the top.
Insert five 5/16" square head screws in the center slot on the underside of the step. The front four sets of fasteners attach the step to the cab mounting brackets; the extra screw attaches to the rear mounting bracket. Position the step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the slots and the rear of the step is about even with the front metallic flange of the rear wheel well. Locate the step in and out as desired, install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws, and tighten to 19 LB FT.
Attach the rear mounting bracket (item #11) against the top of the vehicle spring hanger so that the flat surfaces meet. Install a 7/16-14 x 1-1/2" hex head cap screw down through the top of the bracket (item #12) and the bracket, then attach a 7/16-14 serrated flange nut and washer. Install the bottom mounting bracket (item #12) so that the vertical surfaces meet, using a 5/16-18 x 1.00" hex head cap screw, washer, and serrated flange nut. Install the mega step on top of the lower bracket, align with the front step, and tighten down with 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts. Tighten all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT and all 7/16" fasteners to 40 LB FT.
Yes. When installing the step pads on the steps, you must drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter using the step pad as a guide. The pads are then attached with 5 #8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws.
End cap nuts must be tightened to 5 LB FT.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws must be tightened to 19 LB FT.
All 5/16" fasteners (serrated flange nuts on square head screws and hex head cap screws) must be tightened to 19 LB FT.
