Yes, drilling is required. When installing step pads on the step plates, you must drill 5 holes using 1/8" diameter bits, using the step pad as a guide. The pads are then attached with 5 tek screws (8-18 x 1/2") provided in the kit.
Yes. On the right side of the vehicle, you must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts. These factory bolts will not be reused. The mounting brackets are then installed using new M12 hex head bolts and washers provided in the kit.
No. For Regular Cab pickups only, the front and rear cab mounting brackets are used. The center mounting bracket and its fasteners may be discarded and are not needed for installation.
Step pad position varies by vehicle model. Use the Pad Location Guide on Sheet 2 as a reference. Pad A is positioned near the end cap (approximately 1/2" from the end for box steps), and Pad B is positioned in the middle. The guide provides specific measurements for Silverado/Sierra, Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana, RAM Quad/Crew/Mega Cab, and Ford F150/Super Duty models. Note that these are suggestions and may be adjusted at the purchaser's discretion.
The end caps (Item #3) should be tightened to 5 LB FT.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) that secure the square head screws (Item #4) to the mounting brackets should be tightened to 19 LB FT.
Position the O-MEGA step so that the square head screws (Item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Then install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 LB FT.
On the short threaded end of the stud: install a 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards to the bottom of the thread, then install a 3/8" flat washer and rubber cushion washer tight against the nut (the stud end must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16"). On the long threaded end: install a 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards near the bottom of the threads. Use a 4" stud (Item #19) for the front bracket and a 3" stud (Item #18) for the rear brackets.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that allows the rubber washer to seat firmly against the frame side wall. Install a 3/8" flange nut (Item #17) on the outboard end of the stud finger tight only at this stage.
Use an M12-110mm hex head bolt (Item #12) and a 2.0" washer (Item #14) to install the front mounting bracket (Item #1 or #2 depending on MS or GRIP version) to the front body mount. Leave these fasteners finger tight during initial installation.

Attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (Item #7 or #8 depending on MS or GRIP version) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (Item #5 or #6) in the upper mounting location using three 3/8-16 x 1.0" hex head screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (Items #20, #16, #17).
Loosen the bolt that fastens the suspension links to the vehicle. Slide the upper mounting bracket (Item #9) between the bolt head and the frame bracket. Tighten down the bolt, making sure the upper mounting bracket is level.
Fasten the lower bracket (Item #11) to the upper bracket (Item #9) using 3/8" bolt, washer, and nut (Items #20, #16, #17) in the two lower holes of the upper bracket. Ensure it sits level to the front brackets.
After positioning the load reaction stud assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame, tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 LB FT.
Use a 4" stud (Item #19) for the front bracket and a 3" stud (Item #18) for the rear brackets. This is specified when assembling the load reaction studs and hardware.
