LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Model 571117 fits 2011 and newer 1500, 2500, and 3500 Series Chevrolet and GMC pickups in Regular, Extended, and Crew Cab configurations. The step board length varies depending on your cab style. For other vehicles or older models, the O-MEGA II 6" Oval steps (models 583098, 583102, 583108, 583114, 583125, 584098, 584102, 584114, 584125) are available as a universal application.
The O-MEGA II 6" Oval steps are a universal application and can be fitted to most vehicles. However, you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle, as brackets are vehicle-specific. The step pad locations vary by vehicle model and cab style, as shown in the Pad Location Guide on page 2 of the manual.
Yes. If you are mounting the W2W MEGA STEP (model 571117) on a 1500 model pickup, you must attach bracket 551571 (90-degree, 3-hole bracket) to brackets 551902 and 551905 (center mounting brackets) in order to use the load reaction stud assembly. This is not required for 2500 or 3500 models.
Yes, the W2W MEGA STEP (model 571117) fits Regular Cab pickups. However, Regular Cab applications will only use the front and center mounting brackets (items #2, #3, #4, #5). The rear cab mounting bracket assembly is not used on Regular Cab models.
The O-MEGA II kit includes: 2 aluminum extrusions (length varies by model), 6 step pads, 4 end caps, 28 square head screws (5/16-18 × 1"), 28 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 30 TEK screws (#8-18 × 1/2"). The specific extrusion length depends on your model number. All parts are listed in the Service Parts List on page 1.
The W2W MEGA STEP bracket kit includes mounting brackets for front, center, and rear cab positions; spring hanger mounting brackets; load reaction studs and hardware; and fasteners including 5/16" square head screws, serrated flange nuts, 3/8" bolts, washers, and nylock nuts. The step board assembly is sold separately. See the Service Parts List on page 5 for complete part numbers and quantities.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side of the vehicle at a time) to install the mounting brackets. The manual cautions that 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra models have excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area, so use caution when removing bolts to avoid damaging the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
Yes. You must loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #10) up behind the flange of the bolt. The bracket is positioned behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. After installation is complete, the spring hanger bolt must be retightened per the manufacturer's specifications.
Yes. You must drill five (5) 1/8" holes through the step plate using the step pad as a guide. The step pad is then attached with five (5) #8-18 × 1/2" TEK screws (item #6). Repeat this process for all step pads. Note: Due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first, approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly.
The end caps (item #3) should be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) that attach the square head screws to the mounting brackets should be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #12) that attach the square head screws to the mounting brackets should be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The 3/8" black zinc plated bolts (item #17) that attach the rear outboard cab mounting bracket to the rear inboard cab mounting bracket should be torqued to 19 lb-ft. This applies to both Extended Cab and Crew Cab configurations.
All remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts (excluding the body mount bolts and spring hanger bolt, which are torqued per manufacturer specifications) should be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
Position the step so that the square head screws (item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Then install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Insert four (4) square head screws (or three [3] if using cab length boards) in the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are located in the center two (2) slots of the brackets, and the front of the step is about even with the rear metallic flange of the front wheel well. Locate the step in and out as desired, then install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
1. On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #16), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards to the bottom of the thread. 2. Install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #14) and rubber cushion washer (item #13) tight against the serrated flange nut, with the stud end recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 3. On the long threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards to near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame side) through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the body bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a black flange nut (item #15) on the outboard end of the stud (finger tight only). The stud will be fully tightened in a later step after the step is positioned.
Leave the following fasteners finger tight until the step is positioned and final torquing begins: front mounting bracket fasteners (step 4.1), center mounting bracket fasteners (step 4.2), rear inboard mounting bracket fasteners (step 4.3), rear outboard bracket fasteners (before torquing to 19 lb-ft in step 4.3.1 or 4.3.2), and spring hanger mounting bracket fasteners (step 5.2). The load reaction stud outboard flange nut is also left finger tight initially (step 3.1).
After the step is positioned and the 5/16" serrated flange nuts are tightened to 19 lb-ft (step 6.3): 1. Tighten the body mount bolts per manufacturer specifications (step 6.4). 2. Tighten the spring hanger bolt per manufacturer specifications (step 6.5). 3. Tighten all remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts to 19 lb-ft (step 6.6).
Curt Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
The Step Pad Location Guide on page 2 of the manual provides pad location measurements (Pad A and Pad B distances) for specific vehicle models including Silverado/Sierra (Double, Extended, and Crew Cab), Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans, RAM Quad/Crew/Mega Cab, and Ford F150 and Super Duty models. Note: These locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Read the instructions completely and check that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand before starting the installation. For the W2W MEGA STEP, also follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle.
