LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel steps are the perfect side steps for offroad trucks and work trucks alike. They feature an aggressive look, highly functional step pads, a non-corrosive construction and a vehicle-specific fit. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are truly modern side steps for modern trucks. With their oval-shaped board profile, rounded end caps and angular step pads, they provide an aggressive look. The step pads also feature a unique cutout pattern and raised circular treads for an unmistakable accent. O-Mega II side steps are not only built for style, but they offer superior safety every time you climb into the cab. The step pads are made from aluminum to outlast the harsh elements and ensure maximum traction and wear resistance for the raised treads. These wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long and are equipped with additional step pads toward the rear, giving you a solid and convenient step for reach into the truck bed. They?re perfect for accessing a truck tool box, headache rack, 5th wheel hitch or cargo in the truck bed. To ensure that LUVERNE O-Mega II oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are able to withstand anything the road or trail throws your way, they are constructed from aluminum alloy. Aluminum supplies dependable strength and rigidity, while maintaining unparalleled corrosion resistance and a lightweight design. These side steps and the step pads are also protected in a durable powder coat finish. The boards are available in your choice of carbide black or chrome powder coat. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for a fast, easy, secure installation, featuring vehicle-specific brackets for a custom fit. This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Model 571117 is designed for 2011 and newer Chevrolet and GMC 1500, 2500, and 3500 series pickups in regular, extended, and crew cab configurations. If your truck is a different year, brand, or cab style, this bracket will not fit. Consult the bracket package instructions or contact CURT Manufacturing to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle.
The O-MEGA II steps are listed as a universal application, but fitment depends on the bracket package you use. The bracket package must be specific to your vehicle and must be installed per the separate bracket package instructions included with your purchase. The O-MEGA II steps themselves attach to the brackets using square head screws in slots, so the actual vehicle compatibility is determined by the bracket system, not the steps.
Yes. If you are mounting the W2W MEGA STEP on a 1500 model pickup, you must attach bracket 551571 (the 90-degree, 3-hole bracket) to brackets 551902 (center mounting brackets) in order to use the load reaction stud. This bracket is included in the parts list (item #23, qty 2) and is required for 1500 applications only.
The O-MEGA II kit includes: 2 extrusions (aluminum, silver or black, in various lengths), 6 step pads, 4 end caps, 28 square head screws (5/16-18 × 1"), 28 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 30 TEK screws (#8-18 × 1/2"). The specific extrusion length depends on your vehicle model. All fasteners and hardware are included; you do not need to purchase additional bolts or nuts for the step assembly itself.
The 571117 bracket kit includes: 2 front mounting brackets (left and right), 2 center mounting brackets (left and right), 2 rear outboard mounting brackets (left and right), 2 rear inboard mounting brackets, 2 spring hanger outboard brackets, 2 spring hanger inboard brackets, 16 square head screws (5/16-18), 16 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), 6 rubber cushion washers, 12 flat washers (3/8"), 24 serrated flange nuts (3/8-16), 6 double-ended studs (3/8-16 × 4.5"), 6 bolts (3/8-16 × 1"), 2 hex head bolts (3/8-16 × 2"), 8 flat washers (3/8" and 1/2"), 2 nylock nuts (3/8-16), 2 flat washers (.59 ID × 1.06 OD), and 2 optional 90-degree brackets (for 1500 models). The mega step board is sold separately.
No. The mega step board assembly (item #1) is sold separately. The bracket kit includes all mounting hardware and brackets, but you must purchase the step board separately. The length of the board will vary depending on your vehicle application.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side of the vehicle at a time) to install the mounting brackets. After installing the brackets, you must retighten the body mount bolts to the manufacturer's specifications. Regular cab applications will not use the rear cab mounting bracket assembly; they use only the front and center brackets.
Yes. You must loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket up behind the flange of the bolt. After positioning the brackets, you must retighten the spring hanger bolt to the manufacturer's specifications.
Yes. Before attaching the O-MEGA II steps to the brackets, you must drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter in each step pad location using the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then attached with 5 TEK screws (#8-18 × 1/2") per pad. The manual recommends mounting the box step pad first, approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mounting the middle step pad accordingly.
The end caps (item #3) must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws (item #4) must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws attaching the step to the brackets must be tightened to 19 lb-ft (Step 6.3). All remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts must be tightened to 19 lb-ft (Step 6.6). The rear outboard cab mounting brackets must be torqued to 19 lb-ft (Steps 4.3.1 and 4.3.2). Body mount bolts and spring hanger bolts must be tightened per manufacturer's specifications.
Position the O-MEGA II step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #16), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #14) and rubber cushion washer (item #13) tight against the serrated flange nut, with the end of the stud recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards to near the bottom of the threads. Then attach the stud assembly to the body mounting brackets by inserting it from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the body brackets, allowing the rubber washer to seat firmly against the frame side wall. Install a black flange nut on the outboard end (finger tight only).
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #10) up behind the flange of the bolt, with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #9) so that its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket, using a 3/8" zinc plated bolt, washers, 1/2" washers, and 3/8" zinc plated nylock nut (items #18–#21). Leave the fasteners finger tight until final assembly. After the step is positioned, retighten the spring hanger bolt to the manufacturer's specifications.
Insert four (4) square head screws (item #11) in the center slot on the underside of the step if you are using a full-length board. If you are using a cab-length board, insert three (3) screws instead.
Position the front of the step approximately even with the rear metallic flange of the front wheel well. After positioning, locate the step in and out as desired and install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws, tightening to 19 lb-ft.
After positioning the step: (1) tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws to 19 lb-ft (Step 6.3); (2) tighten the body mount bolts per manufacturer's specifications (Step 6.4); (3) tighten the spring hanger bolt per manufacturer's specifications (Step 6.5); (4) tighten all remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts to 19 lb-ft (Step 6.6).
Due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra vehicles, use caution when removing the body mount bolts to reduce the risk of causing damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007–2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
The manual provides a step pad location guide on page 2 with specific measurements for pad A and pad B positions for various vehicles including Silverado/Sierra (double, extended, and crew cab), Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans, RAM quad/crew/mega cab, and Ford F150 and Super Duty models. However, the manual notes that these locations are only suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Yes, if your truck is a 2011 or newer Chevrolet or GMC 1500, 2500, or 3500 series in regular, extended, or crew cab configuration. For other years, brands, or cab styles, it will not fit.
No, the mega step board is sold separately. The kit includes all mounting brackets and hardware.
Tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts to 19 lb-ft. End caps tighten to 5 lb-ft.
Tighten all 3/8" bolts and nuts to 19 lb-ft, and the 5/16" serrated flange nuts to 19 lb-ft. Body mount and spring hanger bolts must be tightened per manufacturer's specifications.
Yes, you must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side at a time) and the spring hanger bolt must be loosened. Both are reinstalled and retightened after bracket installation.
Use caution when removing body mount bolts due to excessive thread locker; improper removal can damage the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
Ensure the rubber cushion washer (item #13) is positioned tight against the serrated flange nut and that the end of the stud is recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". The inboard spring hanger mounting bracket must be positioned behind the flange of the spring hanger bolt with the channel open to the outboard side. If the rubber washer still does not seat firmly, verify that you are inserting the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the body bracket that will allow the washer to seat.
Verify that the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #9) is being installed so that its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel shape of the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #10). The inboard bracket must be positioned behind the flange of the spring hanger bolt with the channel open to the outboard side. Ensure the spring hanger bolt is loosened enough to allow the inboard bracket to slide into position. Leave all fasteners finger tight until the step is positioned and final tightening is performed.
The body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra vehicles contains excessive thread locker. Use caution when removing the bolts to reduce the risk of causing damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle. Consider applying penetrating oil and allowing time for it to soak before attempting removal. If resistance is encountered, stop and consult the vehicle manufacturer or a professional technician to avoid damaging the threaded inserts.
