O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for a fast, easy, secure installation, featuring vehicle-specific brackets for a custom fit. This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.

Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

The O-MEGA II 6" OVAL STEPS are available in models 583098, 583102, 583108, 583114, 583125, 584098, 584102, 584114, and 584125. These are universal application steps that work with various bracket packages. The specific model you need depends on your vehicle and the bracket package you are using.
The 570717 W2W MEGA STEP BRACKETS are designed for 2007 and newer GM crew cab pickups and extended cabs. If your vehicle is a Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra crew cab or extended cab model year 2007 or newer, these brackets are compatible. For other vehicle makes or body styles, you will need a different bracket package.
The step pad location guide covers Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra (double cab, extended cab, and crew cab), Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans, RAM (quad cab, crew cab, and mega cab), Ford F150 (super cab and super crew cab), and Ford Super Duty (super cab and crew cab). The guide provides specific pad positioning measurements for each vehicle model. Note that pad locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
The O-MEGA II steps include: (5) 8-18X1/2" TEK screws (item #6) per step pad for attaching pads to step plates; (28) 5/16-18 X 1" square head screws (item #4) for mounting to brackets; (28) 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts (item #5) for securing the steps; and (4) plastic end caps (item #3). Additional fasteners are provided in the step board fastener package for the 570717 bracket system.
The 570717 bracket package includes: (12) M8 X 30 X 1.25 screws (item #2); (12) 5/16" standard flat washers (item #4); (6) M8 flanged nuts (item #5); (6) 5/16" X 1.00" screws (item #6); (6) 5/16" U-nuts (item #7); (6) nylon spacer washers (item #8); (2) 3/8-16 nylock nuts (item #9); (4) ½" flat washers (item #10); (4) 3/8" flat washers (item #11); (2) 3/8-16 X 2.00" hex head bolts (item #15); and (6) pinch weld support brackets (item #14). The mega step board fasteners come separately in the step board fastener package.
Yes. The O-MEGA II installation instructions state that you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle. The O-MEGA II steps are attached to the brackets after the brackets are installed. For the 570717 W2W MEGA STEP BRACKETS, detailed mounting instructions are provided in the manual.
Yes. When installing the step pads (item #2) on the step plates, you must drill (5) 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. The pads are then attached with (5) 8-18X1/2" TEK screws (item #6). This drilling is required for each step pad installed.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide table on sheet 2 to position the pads for your specific vehicle model. The table provides measurements for pad A and pad B locations. Note that due to the shortness of some boxes, the box step pad should be mounted first, approximately ½" from the end cap, and then the middle step pad mounted accordingly. Pad locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
The assembly sequence is: (1) Position step pads using the location guide and drill (5) 1/8" holes per pad; (2) Attach pads with (5) 8-18X1/2" TEK screws; (3) Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates; (4) Install end caps (item #3) and tighten nuts to 5 lb ft; (5) Position the assembled step on the mounting brackets so square head screws are in the bracket slots and the step is centered front to rear; (6) Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
Insert a nylon washer (item #8) between the top of the mounting bracket and the bottom of the rocker panel. Install the screw (item #2) and washer (item #4), nut, and pinch weld support bracket (items #5 and #14). This is done on each mounting bracket. Tighten to 19 lb ft. Note that the third bracket back will use a 5/16" bolt (item #6) and U-nut (item #7) instead of an M8 bolt, with the distance between the first and second brackets being 24 inches.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #13) up behind the flange of the bolt. Position it with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #12) so its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket. Use a 3/8" zinc plated bolt (item #17), washers (items #9-#11), and 3/8" zinc plated nylock nut. Leave fasteners finger tight at this stage. The spring hanger flange nut is tightened to 60 lb ft in step 5.2.
Insert (4) 5/16" square head screws in the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the mega step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft. The fasteners for this step come in the step board fastener package, which is sold separately.
The end caps (item #3) should be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws (item #4) should be tightened to 19 lb ft.
The fasteners mounting the brackets to the rocker panel should be tightened to 19 lb ft.
The spring hanger flange nut should be tightened to 60 lb ft, and the 5/16" fasteners should be tightened to 19 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws should be tightened to 19 lb ft.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
