LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel steps are the perfect side steps for offroad trucks and work trucks alike. They feature an aggressive look, highly functional step pads, a non-corrosive construction and a vehicle-specific fit. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are truly modern side steps for modern trucks. With their oval-shaped board profile, rounded end caps and angular step pads, they provide an aggressive look. The step pads also feature a unique cutout pattern and raised circular treads for an unmistakable accent. O-Mega II side steps are not only built for style, but they offer superior safety every time you climb into the cab. The step pads are made from aluminum to outlast the harsh elements and ensure maximum traction and wear resistance for the raised treads. These wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long and are equipped with additional step pads toward the rear, giving you a solid and convenient step for reach into the truck bed. They?re perfect for accessing a truck tool box, headache rack, 5th wheel hitch or cargo in the truck bed. To ensure that LUVERNE O-Mega II oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are able to withstand anything the road or trail throws your way, they are constructed from aluminum alloy. Aluminum supplies dependable strength and rigidity, while maintaining unparalleled corrosion resistance and a lightweight design. These side steps and the step pads are also protected in a durable powder coat finish. The boards are available in your choice of carbide black or chrome powder coat. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for a fast, easy, secure installation, featuring vehicle-specific brackets for a custom fit. This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the W2W Mega Step Bracket (571117) is designed for 2011 and newer 1500/2500/3500 Series Chevrolet and GMC Regular, Extended, and Crew Cab Pickups. The installation differs slightly by cab type: Regular Cab uses only front and center brackets; Extended Cab and Crew Cab use front, center, and rear brackets. Confirm your truck's model year, series, and cab style before purchasing.
The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are listed as a universal application. However, the manual includes a step pad location guide for specific vehicles: Chevrolet Silverado/Sierra (Double, Extended, Crew Cab), Colorado/Canyon (Extended, Crew Cab), Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon XL, Tahoe, Yukon, RAM (Quad, Crew, Mega Cab), Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, Dodge Durango, Ford F-150 (Super Cab, Super Crew Cab), Ford Super Duty (Super Cab, Crew Cab), and Toyota Tundra and Tacoma (various configurations). You must use the correct bracket package for your specific vehicle.
Yes. If you are mounting the W2W Mega Step on a 1500 model pickup, you must attach bracket 551571 (90 degree, 3 holes) to brackets 551902 and 551905 (center mounting brackets) in order to use the load reaction stud. This bracket is not required for 2500 or 3500 series trucks.
The O-MEGA II steps include: (5) 8-18×1/2" tek screws per step pad (item #6, stainless steel, zinc plated); (24) 5/16-18 square head screws (item #4); and (24) 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts (item #5). The step pads (item #2) and end caps (item #3) are also included. Verify all parts are present before installation.
The W2W Mega Step Bracket kit includes: mounting brackets (front, center, rear inboard and outboard for Extended/Crew Cab; front and center only for Regular Cab); load reaction studs (3/8-16×4.50", double-ended, item #16); serrated flange nuts (3/8-16 and 5/16-18); flat washers (3/8" and 1/2"); rubber cushion washers (0.354 ID × 1.00 OD × 0.75 thick); nylock nuts (3/8-16); square head screws (5/16-18); and a 90-degree bracket (551571) for 1500 models. The step board assembly is sold separately.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side of the vehicle at a time) to install the mounting brackets. The manual warns that 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra models have excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area, so use caution when removing bolts to avoid damaging the threaded inserts inside the vehicle. After installing the brackets, you must reinstall and torque the body mount bolts per manufacturer specifications.
The manual does not specify whether battery disconnection is required. Consult the bracket package instructions specific to your vehicle or contact the manufacturer for guidance.
Yes. Before attaching the step pads to the step plates, you must drill (5) 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. The step pad is then attached with (5) 8-18×1/2" tek screws (item #6). This drilling is required for each step pad.
The manual does not mention drilling as part of the W2W Mega Step Bracket installation. The bracket uses existing factory body mount holes and spring hanger bolts. However, consult the specific bracket package instructions for your vehicle, as they may contain additional requirements.
Tighten the end cap nuts (item #3) to 5 LB FT.
Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws (item #4) and tighten to 19 LB FT.
Torque specifications for the W2W Mega Step Bracket are: (1) Rear outboard cab mounting bracket bolts (3/8" black zinc plated): 19 LB FT (Extended and Crew Cab only); (2) Step square head screws (5/16") to mounting brackets: 19 LB FT; (3) All remaining 3/8" bolts/nuts: 19 LB FT. Body mount bolts and spring hanger bolts must be torqued per manufacturer specifications. Do not fully tighten fasteners until all brackets are installed and positioned.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 of the manual to position the step pads for your particular vehicle. The guide provides specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B locations for each vehicle model (Silverado/Sierra Double/Extended/Crew Cab, Colorado/Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, RAM, Dodge, Ford F-150, Ford Super Duty, and Toyota Tundra/Tacoma). The note states these are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. Drill (5) 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide and attach with (5) 8-18×1/2" tek screws.
Follow this sequence: (1) Assemble load reaction studs with hardware (sections 2.1-2.2); (2) Attach load reaction stud assemblies to body mounting brackets (section 3); (3) Remove factory body mount bolts and install front, center, and rear mounting brackets, leaving fasteners finger tight (section 4); (4) Attach spring hanger mounting brackets, leaving fasteners finger tight (section 5); (5) Attach the step board to the mounting brackets using square head screws and serrated flange nuts (section 6); (6) Tighten all fasteners in the final order: body mount bolts per manufacturer specs, spring hanger bolt per manufacturer specs, then all remaining 3/8" bolts/nuts to 19 LB FT.
Assemble each load reaction stud as follows: (1) On the short threaded end of the stud (item #16), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards to the bottom of the thread; (2) Install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #14) and rubber cushion washer (item #13) tight against the serrated flange nut, with the end of the stud recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16"; (3) On the long threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards to near the bottom of the threads. Then attach the assembled stud to the body mounting bracket per section 3.1.
Position the step on the mounting brackets so that: (1) The square head screws (item #11) are located in the center two slots of the brackets; (2) The front of the step is about even with the rear metallic flange of the front wheel well; (3) The step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. You can then locate the step in and out as desired before tightening the 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #12) to 19 LB FT.
Insert four (4) 5/16" square head screws (item #11) in the center slot on the underside of the step for standard length boards. If you are using cab length boards, insert three (3) screws instead.
Yes. You must loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough so that the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #10) can be slid up behind the flange of the bolt. Position the bracket behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. After installation, tighten the spring hanger bolt per manufacturer specifications.
Regular Cab pickups use only the front (items #2, #3) and center (items #4, #5) mounting brackets. They do not use the rear cab mounting bracket assembly. Extended Cab and Crew Cab pickups use front, center, and rear brackets. Additionally, the rear outboard bracket attachment differs: Extended Cab uses the bottom single hole and bottom double holes of the rear inboard bracket (section 4.3.1); Crew Cab uses the bottom single hole and top double holes (section 4.3.2). Both are torqued to 19 LB FT.
Due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra, use caution when removing the body mount bolts to reduce the risk of causing damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
Curt Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
The W2W Mega Step Bracket (571117) fits 2011 and newer Chevrolet and GMC 1500/2500/3500 Series Regular, Extended, and Crew Cab Pickups. For O-MEGA II steps, confirm your vehicle model against the Step Pad Location Guide. Use the correct bracket package for your specific vehicle.
The manual does not specify required tools. Standard installation tools (wrench, socket set, drill with 1/8" bit for O-MEGA II) are implied but not listed. Consult the bracket package instructions for your vehicle.
Torque all 3/8" bolts/nuts and 5/16" square head screws to 19 LB FT. Torque body mount bolts and spring hanger bolts per manufacturer specifications. Do not fully tighten fasteners until all brackets are installed.
Regularly inspect and maintain the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E. Re-torque leaf spring bolts to factory specifications to prevent clunking noise and vehicle damage.
