LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel steps are the perfect side steps for offroad trucks and work trucks alike. They feature an aggressive look, highly functional step pads, a non-corrosive construction and a vehicle-specific fit. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are truly modern side steps for modern trucks. With their oval-shaped board profile, rounded end caps and angular step pads, they provide an aggressive look. The step pads also feature a unique cutout pattern and raised circular treads for an unmistakable accent. O-Mega II side steps are not only built for style, but they offer superior safety every time you climb into the cab. The step pads are made from aluminum to outlast the harsh elements and ensure maximum traction and wear resistance for the raised treads. These wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long and are equipped with additional step pads toward the rear, giving you a solid and convenient step for reach into the truck bed. They?re perfect for accessing a truck tool box, headache rack, 5th wheel hitch or cargo in the truck bed. To ensure that LUVERNE O-Mega II oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are able to withstand anything the road or trail throws your way, they are constructed from aluminum alloy. Aluminum supplies dependable strength and rigidity, while maintaining unparalleled corrosion resistance and a lightweight design. These side steps and the step pads are also protected in a durable powder coat finish. The boards are available in your choice of carbide black or chrome powder coat. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for a fast, easy, secure installation, featuring vehicle-specific brackets for a custom fit. This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Model 571117 is designed for 2011 and newer Chevrolet and GMC 1500, 2500, and 3500 Series pickups in regular, extended, and crew cab configurations. If your truck is a different year, brand, or cab style, this bracket will not fit. Confirm your truck's year, series, and cab type before purchasing.
The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps (models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, 584088) are listed as universal application. However, fitment depends on the specific bracket package you use. The manual includes a step pad location guide for Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, Ram, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F-150, Ford Super Duty, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma. Confirm your vehicle model and cab style are listed before purchasing.
Step pads (item #2, part number 552970) are included in the O-MEGA II service parts list. Four pads are supplied. You will attach them to the step plates using 5 × 1/8" holes drilled through each pad and secured with 5 × 8-18×1/2" tek screws (item #6) provided.
No. The Mega Step Board Assembly (item #1) is sold separately. The length varies depending on your vehicle application. You must purchase the step board separately and confirm it is compatible with your truck's cab style and length.
The O-MEGA II kit includes: 24 × 5/16-18 square head screws (item #4), 24 × 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts (item #5), 20 × #8-18×1/2" tek screws (item #6), 4 × plastic end caps (item #3), and 4 × aluminum step pads (item #2). All fasteners needed for assembly are provided.
The 571117 kit includes: 16 × 5/16-18 square head screws, 16 × 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts, 6 × rubber washers, 12 × 3/8" flat washers, 24 × 3/8-16 serrated flange nuts, 6 × 3/8-16 double-ended studs, 6 × 3/8-16 bolts, 2 × 3/8-16 hex head bolts (2.00" long), 4 × 3/8" flat washers, 4 × 1/2" flat washers, 2 × 3/8-16 nylock nuts, 2 × flat washers, 2 × 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts, 2 × 5/16" flat washers, and 2 × 5/16-18 hex head cap screws. Two 90-degree brackets (item #23) are included for 1500 models.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts one side of the vehicle at a time to install the mounting brackets. The manual notes that 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra models have excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area, so use caution when removing bolts to avoid damaging the threaded inserts inside the vehicle. After installing the brackets, you must retighten the body mount bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
Yes. You must loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #10) up behind the flange of the bolt. After positioning the brackets, you must retighten the spring hanger bolt to the manufacturer's specifications.
Yes. You must drill 5 × 1/8" holes through each step pad using the pad as a guide. These holes are used to attach the step pads to the step plates with 5 × 8-18×1/2" tek screws. Drilling is required for each pad installed.
No drilling is required for the W2W Mega Step Brackets installation. The brackets are mounted using factory body mount bolt holes and spring hanger bolt holes. No modifications to the vehicle frame or body are necessary.
The end caps (item #3) must be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws (item #4) must be tightened to 19 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #12) on the square head screws (item #11) must be tightened to 19 lb ft.
All remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts on the W2W Mega Step Brackets must be tightened to 19 lb ft. This includes the rear outboard cab mounting bracket bolts (step 4.3.1 and 4.3.2) and the spring hanger mounting bracket bolts (step 5.2).
Step pad position varies by vehicle model and cab style. The manual provides a Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 with specific measurements for Pad A (front) and Pad B (rear) for each vehicle. For example, Silverado/Sierra double cab requires Pad A at 14-3/4" and Pad B at 46-3/4". The note states these are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. Consult the table for your specific vehicle model and cab type.
Install four (4) 5/16" square head screws (item #11) in the center slot on the underside of the step. If you are using cab length boards, install three (3) screws instead.
Position the step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the center two (2) slots of the brackets and the front of the step is about even with the rear metallic flange of the front wheel well. You can then locate the step in and out as desired before final tightening.
No. The 90-degree bracket (item #23, part number 551571) is required only if you are mounting the steps on a 1500 model pickup. It must be attached to brackets 551902 (item #2 and #3) to allow use of the load reaction stud. Extended and crew cab 2500/3500 models do not require this bracket.
Load reaction studs are required for 1500 model pickups. They are assembled with rubber cushion washers, flat washers, and serrated flange nuts (items #13–#16) and attached to the body mounting brackets. The studs are not required for 2500 and 3500 Series models.
The rear outboard cab mounting bracket (items #6 and #7) is used only on extended cab and crew cab models. Regular cab applications use only the front and center brackets (items #2, #3, #4, #5) and do not use the rear cab mounting bracket assembly.
The rear outboard cab mounting bracket (items #6 and #7) must be mounted to the back side of the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #8), towards the rear of the vehicle. The bolts must be inserted through the front side of the bracket so the serrated flange nuts are on the back side to allow clearance for the truck frame.
For extended cab models, use the bottom single hole and bottom double holes in the rear inboard cab mounting bracket (item #8). For crew cab models, use the bottom single hole and top double holes. Refer to Figure 2 for extended cab and Figure 3 for crew cab.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #16), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #14) and rubber cushion washer (item #13) tight against the serrated flange nut, with the end of the stud recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard or frame side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the body bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a black flange nut (item #15) on the outboard end of the stud finger tight only at this stage.
Leave all fasteners finger tight during initial bracket installation. After positioning the step and installing the square head screws and serrated flange nuts, tighten them to 19 lb ft. Then tighten the body mount bolts to the manufacturer's specifications, tighten the spring hanger bolt to the manufacturer's specifications, and finally tighten all remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts to 19 lb ft.
Curt Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007–2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
Use caution when removing the body mount bolts on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra models because excessive thread locker is present in the body mount bolt area. Removing bolts without care may cause damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
Model 571117 fits 2011 and newer Chevrolet and GMC 1500, 2500, and 3500 Series pickups in regular, extended, and crew cab configurations only. Confirm your truck's year, series, and cab type.
No, the Mega Step Board Assembly is sold separately and length varies by application.
Yes, you must remove and reinstall the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts. Use caution on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra due to excessive thread locker.
Tighten 5/16" serrated flange nuts on square head screws to 19 lb ft. Tighten 3/8" bolts and nuts to 19 lb ft. Tighten end caps to 5 lb ft.
Yes, if you have a 1500 model, you must attach bracket 551571 to brackets 551902 to use the load reaction stud. 2500/3500 models do not require it.
Leave fasteners finger tight during initial installation. After positioning the step, tighten square head nuts to 19 lb ft, then tighten body mount bolts and spring hanger bolt to manufacturer specs, then tighten remaining 3/8" bolts to 19 lb ft.
Regularly inspect and maintain the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E. Failure to maintain factory torque values may result in vehicle damage.
