Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Ford E150, E150 Econoline, E250, E250 Econoline and E350 Super Duty (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

The O-MEGA II steps (models 583100 and 584100) are listed as universal application. For 2001 and newer Ford vans, you will need the model 570124 bracket package, which is specifically designed for this vehicle application. The bracket package must be used to mount the steps to your van.
The O-MEGA II steps are available in two colors: silver (extrusion part numbers 553068 for 33" and 553074 for 95") and black (extrusion part numbers 553056 for 33" and 553062 for 95"). The step pads are supplied in black (part number 552970).
The O-MEGA II step extrusions are available in two lengths: 33.00" and 95.00". The end caps are 2.95" × 6.70".
The O-MEGA II step kit includes: 18 square head screws (5/16-18 × 1", part 106880), 18 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18, part 102680), 24 tek screws (#8-18 × 1/2", part 107958), and 4 end caps (part 107956). Step pads (4 total, part 552970) are also included. The specific bracket package will include additional fasteners for mounting to your vehicle.
Yes. Step pads must be installed on the step plates before attaching the steps to the mounting brackets. For the O-MEGA II universal steps, drill five 1/8" pilot holes using the holes in the step pad as a guide, then attach with five #8-18 × 1/2" tek screws (part 107958). For the 570124 bracket package on Ford vans, use 1/2" tek screws (part 107958) and position the front step pad at about 7-1/2" from the front.
When installing step pads at approximately 70°F, position the screws in the end slotted holes in the middle of the slot. Turn the screws in snug, then back off 1/4 turn. This allows the plastic pads to expand when hot and contract when cold without rising up between the screws.
The square head screws (part 106880) that attach the O-MEGA II steps to the mounting brackets should be tightened to 19 lb ft. The end caps should be tightened to 5 lb ft.
For the 570124 bracket package on Ford vans: tighten the bolts from the step plate to the frame to 19 foot pounds of torque (step 9 and 13), and tighten the bracket to body mounting bolts to 19 foot pounds of torque (step 10 and 14). For Grip Steps, tighten the 5/16" flange nuts on the carriage bolts to 19 foot pounds of torque (step 11).
No. For the 570124 bracket package, all fasteners should be finger-tightened first. Install the U-nuts in the quarter panel holes, then finger-tighten the mounting bracket bolts. Install the step plates and finger-tighten the serrated flange nuts on the square head screws. Only after the step is positioned and centered on the vehicle should you apply final torque of 19 foot pounds to the step plate to frame bolts and bracket to body mounting bolts.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. The bottom edge of the mounting bracket flanges should be even with the bottom edge of the pinch weld on the vehicle. Align the step plate with the bottom of the body sheet metal before final torque.
For the right side step plate: install five square head screws (5/16-18 × 1", part 106880) in the front track and five in the rear track (10 total). For the left side step plate: install two square head screws in the front track and two in the rear track (4 total). This totals 14 square head screws for both sides.
The U-nuts are pre-installed in the rectangular and round holes in the inside quarter panel of the Ford van. They provide threaded mounting points for the hex bolts that attach the mounting brackets to the vehicle body. Short 5/16-18" multi-thread U-nuts (part 104264) are installed at the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th holes from the front, and long 5/16-18" multi-thread U-nuts (part 105541) are installed at the 2nd set of holes from the front.

Yes. On the passenger side of the vehicle, remove the tape that is covering the mounting holes in the inside quarter panel at five locations before installing the U-nuts.
The mounting brackets are attached using 5/16-18 × 1" hex bolts (part 106997), 5/16" flat washers (part 106998), and either 5/16" lock washers (part 102668) for the upper U-nut connection or black plated 5/16" serrated flange nuts (part 106996) for the lower pinch weld connection. All fasteners should be finger-tightened initially, then tightened to 19 foot pounds of torque.
The 5/16" flat washers (part 106998) are used with the hex bolts to distribute load and prevent fastener pull-through. The 5/16" lock washers (part 102668) are used specifically at the U-nut connections to help prevent loosening from vibration.
Before attaching Grip Steps to the brackets: (1) slide the appropriate number of support braces (part 551296) into the channel of the steps; (2) slide the end caps (part 551394) over the front and rear of each step and screw them on using #8 × 1/2" self-drilling tek screws (part 107958); (3) set the steps on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket; (4) attach the flat spacer plate (part 551298) to the bottom of the step between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket; (5) using 5/16"-18 × 1" carriage bolts (part 108683), 5/16" flat washers (part 101369), and 5/16"-18 serrated flange nuts (part 102680), attach the step assemblies and spacer plates to the mounting brackets; (6) slide the step plates to the correct position and tighten the flange nuts to 19 foot pounds of torque; (7) tighten the bracket to body mounting bolts to 19 foot pounds of torque.
The support braces (part 551296) slide into the channel of the Grip Steps and provide structural support. The flat spacer plates (part 551298) are attached to the bottom of the step between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket to properly position and support the step assembly on the brackets.
The front brackets are installed the same way on both the right (passenger) and left (driver) sides. However, the right side has five square head screws in the front track and five in the rear track, while the left side has only two square head screws in the front track and two in the rear track.
Yes, with the model 570124 bracket package, which is specifically designed for 2001 and newer Ford vans. The O-MEGA II steps are universal application but require the correct bracket package for your vehicle.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" pilot holes in the step plates using the holes in the step pads as a guide before attaching the pads with tek screws. The 570124 bracket package requires pre-installed U-nuts in the quarter panel; drilling for those is not described in the manual.
Tighten the square head screws to the mounting brackets to 19 lb ft. Tighten the end caps to 5 lb ft. For the 570124 bracket package, tighten all final fasteners to 19 foot pounds of torque.

For the 570124 bracket package on Ford vans, you must remove the tape covering the mounting holes in the inside quarter panel. The manual does not describe removal of other factory components.
Plastic step pads expand when hot and contract when cold. Backing off the end slot screws 1/4 turn (after positioning them in the middle of the slot at 70°F) allows the pads to move freely without rising up between the screws.
The step should be centered front to rear on the vehicle. The bottom edge of the mounting bracket flanges should be even with the bottom edge of the pinch weld on the vehicle. The step plate should be aligned with the bottom of the body sheet metal.
